And your analogy is in perfect contrast to what I've advocated in an NFL QB all along.
By your own words, he's not the passer that his brother is, nor is he even a scrambling QB. He's lukewarm in all things. Hardly the type QB to rave about.

And yet that's pretty much exactly what any good overall team like the Giants could hope for in a franchise QB. Eli is fundamentally solid and sound. This generation's Mark Brunnell or Trent Green.

Oh and he's won a Super Bowl. Romo has won how many again, exactly?

Go find some lists by those considered expert in their field, and find me one that would rather have Eli Manning over Romo.

Let me get you started. A current NFL QB that's considered pretty fair at his craft. Aaron Rodgers.

The station asked Rodgers who he thought the top five quarterbacks in the NFL are. He added the Chargers' Philip Rivers, the Cowboys' Tony Romo and Saints Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees to the list. And he added Manning, the Colts' four-time MVP.

But he said none, not even Manning, can match the skill level of Brady, the three-time Super Bowl-winning Patriots QB.

Umm... you're forgetting something, Sloww. Isn't it important to have a QB who wins games, especially in the playoffs, or when it's down to the wire and in crunch-time?


Eli is no choke artist. Romo is. Eli is always the same solid Eli no matter what the pressure is, whether it's the playoffs, or whatever else.

Would you rather have the guy who chokes when it's crunch-time or the guy who is always clutch?

Let's see... Eli Manning has had 13 4th quarter comebacks and Romo has had 9. Eli has had 16 game-winning drives and Romo has had 10.


The numbers tell the story that you can know just by following the Giants and Cowboys. Eli is way more clutch than Romo.

I realize I can't get any data on how many times either QB was down in the 4th quarter and failed to come back so we can see how likely Eli is to manage a comeback compared to Romo but Eli being one of the QB's with the most 4th quarter comebacks is still telling and validates what you can see on the field
