  • Huh? What are you talking about? I just made the point that Eli is a better athlete in the physical sense (you know, like in his speed and agility... measurables like his 40 yard dash and vertical jump) and you called me an idiot. What are you talking about now?

I think it's pretty clear if anyone's watched the Giants or the Colts that Eli is quicker with his feet. He's no Vince Young or even a Big Ben but he still moves better than his brother.

    • Here's another one of my who woulda thunk it? stats... Who currently has the highest QB rating in the NFL at a 103.1 rating? This QB is also tied for second place in yards per attempt.

Vince Young. He has hardly been throwing it much but he has been as cool and efficient as you can get.

Yeah, but who is the better QB?
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Obviously Peyton Manning but I'm just saying that Eli is a better athlete in the physical sense.

And your analogy is in perfect contrast to what I've advocated in an NFL QB all along.
By your own words, he's not the passer that his brother is, nor is he even a scrambling QB. He's lukewarm in all things. Hardly the type QB to rave about.

And yet that's pretty much exactly what any good overall team like the Giants could hope for in a franchise QB. Eli is fundamentally solid and sound. This generation's Mark Brunnell or Trent Green.

Oh and he's won a Super Bowl. Romo has won how many again, exactly?

              • What is your fixation with Romo? Contrary to what you believe, a QB doesn't carry the team alone. You just said this very thing. Is it your intent that anytime anyone disparages your precious Eli, to counter with a stupid Romo remark? I'll tell you what you can do to stay busy. Go find some lists by those considered expert in their field, and find me one that would rather have Eli Manning over Romo.
                Good luck with that one.

                • Let me get you started. A current NFL QB that's considered pretty fair at his craft. Aaron Rodgers.

                  Peyton Manning or Tom Brady?

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said Brady "is the best by far" among current NFL quarterbacks.

"It's not even close," Rodgers told ESPN Radio.

The station asked Rodgers who he thought the top five quarterbacks in the NFL are. He added the Chargers' Philip Rivers, the Cowboys' Tony Romo and Saints Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees to the list. And he added Manning, the Colts' four-time MVP.

But he said none, not even Manning, can match the skill level of Brady, the three-time Super Bowl-winning Patriots QB.

                  • I'd take Dan Marino over Eli Manning every time and he couldn't run for ****! He was a good QB though...

                    • Exactly how I feel. What about Johnny Unitas? A scrambler? No. Pro QB. A position that throws the damn ball, Al.

Umm... you're forgetting something, Sloww. Isn't it important to have a QB who wins games, especially in the playoffs, or when it's down to the wire and in crunch-time?

Eli is no choke artist. Romo is. Eli is always the same solid Eli no matter what the pressure is, whether it's the playoffs, or whatever else.

Would you rather have the guy who chokes when it's crunch-time or the guy who is always clutch?

Not only that but check this out. It's not counting any games this season yet but:

                          http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/comeback.cgi?player=RomoTo00

Let's see... Eli Manning has had 13 4th quarter comebacks and Romo has had 9. Eli has had 16 game-winning drives and Romo has had 10.

The numbers tell the story that you can know just by following the Giants and Cowboys. Eli is way more clutch than Romo.

                          • Whatever you think, Al. Let's even look at the DST draft. You didn't jump on Eli "The Franchise" Manning.

                            Peyton Manning
                            Aaron Rodgers
                            Drew Brees
                            Matt Schaub
                            Tony Romo (Pick 1.13)
                            Tom Brady
                            Joe Flacco
                            Philip Rivers
Eli Manning (Last pick of the 2nd round, 28th)

                            • I realize I can't get any data on how many times either QB was down in the 4th quarter and failed to come back so we can see how likely Eli is to manage a comeback compared to Romo but Eli being one of the QB's with the most 4th quarter comebacks is still telling and validates what you can see on the field
