yeah but the whole reading defenses and stuff thing. It's just interesting to have a Yale-educated coach and Stanford and Harvard-educated QB's and struggle like that.

Fitzpatrick took the Wonderlic test in a record 9 minutes (it's 50 questions) and scored a 48, which is equivalent to an IQ of 156.

The Bills have a literal genius playing QB.

Additionally, Fitzpatrick ran a 4.86 in the 40-yard dash had a 295-pound bench press and 415-pound squat and 325-pound power clean
He's very strong and reasonably fast as well. Interesting how he's such a mediocre QB.

325 lb power clean! holy ****.

Nah he was an Economics major.

Here's a random fact... I noticed Malcom Floyd's name is spelled without an "L". never noticed that before. Look on wikipedia... he has an older brother who played for the Oilers in the mid-90's. His brother's name is Malcolm with an L. What kind of family is this?

          • They both have the same name? Are they related to George Foreman? You know how Black people are with names. Anything to be different. I saw a girl today on a brief Amber Alert. Her name was Aangel. I guess one of the parents stutter.

            • I was wondering whether the Bears would get much credit in the national media today. Turned on Mike + Mike on the worldwide leader, and all they could talk about was how the Packers lost the game with penalties and mistakes. Typical and expected.

And no, I don't delude myself that the Bears are the class of the NFC. I was actually just happy they didn't pee their pants and get blown out last night. But a win's a win.

              Fun game to watch.

              • Did they mention that several of those pass interference penalties were intelligent penalties taken by guys who were beat? Charles Woodson took out Hester for example on a play where Hester was gone for six if he doesn't basically tackle him. Now, he shouldn't get beat in the first place, but that was the smartest PI i've ever seen...

The Pack certainly didn't help themselves, but the Bears won that game. They hurt themselves as much as the Pack did, with the turnover early on while near the red zone, and some just stupid play near the goal line...

I don't think the Bears are the 'class of the NFC', but they're looking like a playoff team right now. I think my predictions for the NFC playoff lineup are looking pretty good right now, assuming SF can get back on track (big assumption).

                • If the Bears can develop a goal line offense, they could be pretty dangerous. So far, they've been incompetent inside the 5.

                  • Yeah, Cutler got a bit overzealous on that pass to Clark (grrrrr), and otherwise they just can't run the ball short distances. Sigh.

                    • The fall of Forte (seriously, WTF happened) hurts badly.

                      • What happened was the Bears found they could pass the ball but not run the ball. Forte had to stay back in protection (as did Olsen, largely). When one of them could get out, it was Olsen. Forte was quite vital to that win really - he did an amazing job of blitz pickup. Cla Matthews had precisely 0 sacks, after all, and Forte gets a lot of the credit for that.

                        • I'm talking about in general. 2.8 yards per carry this season is horrid.

                          • Their O-line is a disaster, and it's a disaster that's oriented around protecting the pass. They actually ran reasonably okay the first half - 50 yards rushing, of which only 27 were Cutler - but the second half they gave up on that entirely. I think though that the whole season has been the same - rushing is hard, and Forte's tired from pass blocking all the time. Their guards aren't very good, and they really aren't run blocking guards in any event; I'm just happy they pass block as effectively as they have. Same for the tackles, really. Try as hard as possible to pass block, and occasionally remember to run block.

Forte will do better if they start doing play-action runs (ie, draws etc.) a bit more. Once Cutler is set up as the main man, lines will key on him more and they can draw and screen to Forte at will. The problem though is that draw/screen only works if the O-Line can block reasonably - if they're always just barely surviving, the D-line will be all over the running back.

                            • Matt Forte, despite his size, isn't much of a pure runner. He averaged 3.9 ypc in his rookie year then 3.6 ypc the next year. The O-line may be a reason for that but looks like Forte is more like Reggie Bush than Adrian Peterson.
