  • Favre used to be the man. Now he's just a ***** and deserves to be called out for it, as do the media personalities who fall for it.

    • I love it... Minny self destructing. Keep it up Teflon man, and make sure Minny stays out of the hunt. I hope he enjoys his last season.
      He should have quit after last years fantasy tour.
      Keep on Civin'

      • Screw Brett, but I hope he plays for another 20 years (it will mean the Viking will suck for that long!). Let talk about some more dear to (alot) of our hearts:

        WHAT THE HELL DOES LOVIE SMITH DO FOR THE BEARS?

        He has admitted that he has very little to no imput in the offense. He ran the defense last year, ****ed it up and it got taken away from him this year. He has nothing to do with Special Teams as well. The only thing he does, is make gametime choices. Like when to throw the red flag. THAT IS ALL HE HAS TO DO! He throws it on the play where Bennett is clearly down by contact before getting into the end zone, then doesn't call it on a play where not only does Cutler score, but he fumbles the ball after he does so and the Redskins recover on the one! WTF!?!?!?! YOU ****ING IDIOT! YOU HAVE ONE SIMPLE JOB TO DO AND YOU COST THE BEARS THE GAME BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO ****ING RETARDED TO DO SIMPLE TASKS! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

        • Like all NFL teams, the Bears have people assigned to tell Lovie when to throw the challenge flag. That's where the failure was.

          • Listening to the Score this morning, it sounded like he doesn't. It sounded like he didn't want to throw the red flag because he didn't get a good look at the play and he had just challeged the previous play. THE MAN IS A ****ING IDIOT!!!

              Current stat check, Brett "The Man" Favre
              Completion Pct = 58.1, 25th (Cutler 17th)
              Yd/Att = 6.55, 22nd (Cutler 2nd[!])
              TDs = 7, T21st (tied with Cutler)
              INTs = 10, T2nd (Cutler T7th)
              Rating = 68.0, 30th (Cutler 21st)
              Yds/Game = 199, 23rd (Cutler 11th)

              All this with the biggest rushing threat in the NFC in the backfield.

              I posted the Cutler comparison mostly for the lulz, but also because they are the two QBs on my IDP team and I personally know how horrific Cutler has been this year. Yet by every reasonable measure (including victories), Jay Cutler is the better QB in 2010. That's just sad.

              • Lovie Smith probably makes personnel decisions. Also, he's the respected leader of the team, something which sounds dumb but its value is important... he's the one on the sideline and the one in the locker-room at halftime...

                Don't think that's anything unique, either. What does Tom Coughlin do? He doesn't call plays, either. Jeff Fisher doesn't. A lot of coaches don't call the plays. Really, head coaches calling plays are a rarity. Now, granted all those guys may have more input on the team's play-calling than Lovie Smith since Mike Martz pretty much does his own thing

                      • This monopolization of QB's is very unsportsman-like. There is no legitimate reason for anyone to have 3-4 QB's on their roster except to deny your fellow players QB's. I see this is a problem with 14 team leagues. The RB's and WR's are so bottom of the barrel that it makes sense to fill your roster with all the available QB's. You're not really losing much with regards to roster space because all the RB's and WR's out there who are not already starting suck anyway.

                          I'll probably drop a bunch of people next week.

                          • 14 teams is a lot. I think the best solution is to have shorter benches, ensuring that the waiver wires have some usefulness. It might also be wise to go back to Yahoo's waiver priority system so that the same guy doesn't get all the hot pickups every week. (I'm looking at you, Berz. )

                            The other option is to define and enforce roster makeup, which is a logistical nightmare since Yahoo can't do it.

                            • The interesting thing about Troy Smith is that people have forgotten that in 2008, Troy Smith beat out rookie Flacco in Ravens camp but contracted a rare case of tonsillitis in which he lost 20lbs and was in no condition to play professional football and Flacco got the starting nod on the season, as a result. Troy Smith has definite potential. His only knock is that he's undersized at 6'.

                              Oh and speaking of Joe Flacco, the Italian South Jersey native...
