Yeah that doesn't make much sense. What goes into 'intent to sell'? And realistically, why would he be selling weed? Why the hell would a current NFL player ever be selling weed? I mean really.

Travis Henry was selling hard drugs but after he was out of the league and he had long-standing financial issues. But when he did it, he went for broke being the money guy in a inter-state cocaine ring. Same thing with Jamal Lewis who was accused of attempting to distribute five kilos of cocaine.

    Why would they sell weed?

      • Double Uh-oh: Romo out with a fractured left clavicle. Dallas has blown a 20-7 lead and now trails NY 38-20.

        • This Giants-Cowboys game is turning into such a beat down. I can't believe the Cowboys' D is looking this bad. They are making Eli look like Peyton!

Oh and 3 prime-time games in 7 weeks for the G-Men

By the way, here's a very random and strange stat:
Since the start of the 2008 season, the Browns are 3-1 versus defending Super Bowl champions and 8-27 against all other teams.
They beat the 2007 winner, Giants, in 2008; the 2008 winner, Steelers, in 2009; and now the 2009 winner, Saints, in 2010.

                      • I was thinking, is it just me or were there a lot of high-scoring games this week? I wonder if the crackdown on hits made defensive players less aggressive which opened things up more for offenses.

Consider... These are the average points scored each week so far. I don't feel like going through the effort of getting standard deviations, though but here are the mean scores:

                        This week: 26.32
                        Week 6: 21.5
                        Week 5: 22.75
                        Week 4: 20.63
                        Week 3: 21.69
                        Week 2: 20.72
                        Week 1: 18.28

That's pretty significant. Every other week except Week 1 (opening week is always defensive-oriented because offenses aren't in in-season rhythm yet), the average score has been in the 20-22 point range but this week exceeded that by a notable amount. Even if we exclude Oakland's 59 points (but include Denver's 14 so 27 total datapoints), the average score is still 25.11, significantly higher than the other weeks.

                        • It's possible, but I think its to soon to really tell. If the trend continues past the 10th week, then I'd agree 100%.

                          • Not only that but look who was on a bye:

Colts: #3 in points (27.2 average)
Jets: #4 in points (26.5 average)
Texans: #6 in points (25.5 average)
Lions: #11 in points (24.3 average)

3 of the top 6 teams in scoring were on byes!

That's pretty notable if even with 3 top offenses on bye, the mean score was so high.

                            • There is also the possibility that it's not that defense weren't hitting as hard, it was that offenses played more aggressively because of a perceived benefit in doing so with the new rules.
