The Bears had gameplanned all week for Joe Webb/AP but now are being given Favre/Gerhart. Such a change.


To be honest, though, the Vikings really would have done a lot of good to see what Joe Webb is capable of. Tarvaris Jackson (who is a free agent after this season) getting injured screwed the possibility of one last look at him before the Vikings let him walk; now, they could have at least seen what Joe Webb could do. Favre playing screws up the Vikings' long-term plans.

Eli was standing there to the side in an empty room... some guy eventually comes in with a book bag on (like he just came out of study hall), takes off his bag, sits down, and Eli walks over to the podium and starts the press conference with one dude in the room!

Favre was on the NFL's official injury report on Saturday, listed as "Out." Pretty big change from that to "starting" in 2 days.

I thought that was against league rules. Didn't NE get fined and reprimanded for gaming the injury report a few years back?

If anyone has ever doubted that Brett Favre for all his struggles still gave the Vikings their best chance to win, I present this game. The Vikings were actually looking pretty good until he got hurt.

I don't know what happened... they didn't really lose anyone since last year but the talent evaporated.

They've had some injuries. The Williams Wall is getting old. Favre skipping training camp for a third straight year caught up with him. And Favre, canny as he may be, has clearly seen better days. Early in the year, he was pretty damned bad, especially without Sidney Rice around.
