It's plausible, based on how Cecil's involvement has been described, but I don't think that matters wrt any new rule that might be implemented. What matters is that plenty of relatives and hangers-on have no problem trying to cut deals without the kid knowing, and a new rule that gives those people effective control over a kid's eligibility isn't a good thing.

What, nothing on Auburn v. Oregon for the national championship? Both teams looked good in their wins and, also, WTF Nebraska? Was also hoping UConn would have lost, because the Big East would have had a better chance with West Virginia going to the BCS game, especially if it is going to be against Oklahoma.

What, nothing on Auburn v. Oregon for the national championship? Both teams looked good in their wins and, also, WTF Nebraska? Oregon would have looked pretty stupid had they lost to Oregon State. As it was, it still wasn't all overpowering of a win. I was more impressed with Auburn's win.
It felt odd, rooting for Oklahoma, but I wanted them to send a message to Nebraska, don't let the door hit you in the ass.

Oregon would have looked pretty stupid had they lost to Oregon State. As it was, it still wasn't all overpowering of a win.

A 17-point road win in what is one of the most intense rivalries in the country would be impressive in any other year, you're only saying this because everyone is used to the Ducks hanging 50 points on opponents. They should take that as a compliment, I suppose.

But if you watched the game, the Ducks clearly dominated Oregon State without too much trouble after the first quarter, and the Beav's second and final touchdown was a 4th quarter gimme when Oregon already had the game well in hand. Style points aren't needed at this point in the season.

The fake punt the Ducks did was hilarious--it fooled everyone, thanks to the punter pretending that the ball had sailed over his head by mistake. It sure did make the Beavers look stupid for Oregon to pick up 64 yards on 4th down.

, that it is, Boris. On an unrelated note, I'm not sure which I'm happier about: the championship game being set or finally getting to stop hearing about how Spurrier is the best big game coach since the dawn of time.

I honestly can not believe that anyone was talking up Spurrier and/or South Carolina before the game. It was patently obvious that Auburn was going to skull**** the Gamecocks.
