Yeah but that's because Antonio Gates was a far and away better than everyone else and the other top TE's like Dallas Clark and Jermichael Finley got hurt. As you can see, from #2 TE to #7 TE, the drop-off isn't significant at all.
Even if no one else got hurt, Gates would still be that much far and away better. He was scoring like 2 TD's a game for a while there.

With a flex as it's own position and not lumping it with respective other positions, Jag is #2 in WRs #2 in Flex #1 in RBs. It's that his Flex RBs have been so prolific and that he only plays flex RBs that pushes his WR number down.
