No, it still doesn't matter when the question is who Donegeal should start this week.
Yes, it does matter. In the past, no, it wouldn't matter. Now, Vick may turn out to be acceptable. I still don't see him being a great QB, but acceptable.
I wouldn't start him over Brady, but the other two, yeah, I'd think about it.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
That's fair enough. I just remember a couple of really painful games in the sub-20-point category last year. They were killers, and I traded for Big Ben to carry me the final weeks into the playoffs.
Tangent: Cutler is starting off as one of the best QB values in this year's draft. We'll see.
You think so? A lot of people were very high on Cutler and the whole Martz effect... what worries me about Cutler is that Martz has never been a believer in protecting a QB so Cutler could start to throw picks as he gets hurried...
Green Bay and the Giants next... beware the pass rush.

Vicious Rabbits(3) vs. Forte's Fireman(12)
The Forte's Fireman have struggled mightily the last two weeks by putting up lovewow-esque numbers. However, the team isn't as bad as their performance up to this point indicates and they should begin to turn it around soon. Before the season, the Vicious Rabbits and the Fireman looked fairly even on paper, and the yahoo projections this week suggest that as well - predicting that both teams will score 141 points. But the Fireman simply haven't performed up to this point, and the Rabbits led the league in scoring last week. The edge has to go the the Rabbits. Vicious Rabbits win 160-135
Hairball Express(9) vs. Deviations(11)
The Deviations are coming off a horrible performance and are set for a big rebound. They have a number of favorable opponents(Oak, Stl, Det...) and a better team than their 0-2 record indicates. Carson Palmer could cause them trouble though, going up against Carolina. The Hairball Express is coming off a big win, but their team is simply less talented than the Deviations. In order to win they'll need a very big day out of Schaub, which is certainly possible against Dallas, but can't be relied upon. Deviations win 150-140
Dallas Dwarf Tossers(10) vs. Random Encounter(8)
Random Encounter is clearly the better team in this match-up. Tom Brady, AP, Vernon Davis vs Mendenhall? Its hard to see where the DDT will get the points to try and compete. On top of that, DDt has some pretty tough player opponents while Random has neutral to good ones. This is probably going to be a blow out. Random Encounter wins 170-120
Teh Peeled Bananas(2) vs. Pornhuskers(7)
This should be teh Bananas break out week. We've managed to pull out 2 wins with relatively unimpressive outings, and are due to put up some big numbers. Eli and Stewart have both been benched in favor of Orton and Knox, who both a have been playing well and have good matchups. The Pornlovers, on the other hand, have some really tough opponents and I don't see any of them having big days. Teh Peeled Bananas win 180-130
Calamitous Intent(5) vs. Topeka Twisters(6)
This game was in contention for "game of the week" honors, as the competitors have the highest combined total points scored in this weeks match-ups. Yahoo projects Intent to put up huge numbers this week, but I think the Twisters have a fighting chance. I don't think Peyton Manning will put up Godly numbers in Denver, nor do I think his other player matchups are as good as yahoo thinks they are. I also don't think CI's defense is nearly as strong as the projections suggest, and the Twisters are in fact superior in this area. I think any one of the Twister's offensive players is capable of having a big day against their opponent, and one or two of them probably will. Topeka Twisters win 170-150
GAME OF THE WEEK:
KenobilovesLT(1) vs. Mountain Goats(4)
The LTlovers have been surprisingly successful so far. They've played tough teams and managed to win. But this week they are over matched, going up against a team with Brees, Wayne, and Foster, amongst others. Furthermore, they are starting three players from SD, who are playing on the road in Seattle. In fact, only two of the LTlovers players are playing at home this week - not a good sign. Of course, the Mountain Goats are simply the better team. Rivers may be able to match Brees, but the Goat's WR's and RB's are pretty superior. The LTlovers will need a small miracle to hold on to their first place spot for another week.
Wow! You guys are making FF questions so much fun! I should have been coming here for it for years! By the way, I am going to go Vick because I need the rushing help.
And if you want me to stir the pot a little more... I still have the Defense question. Which defense will allow the least yardage: NYJ vs Mia or Pittsburgh vs Tampa Bay
Yeah... that's what I thought too and didn't really even think it was worth disscussion.
Anyway, what a turbulent FF season for me. I made two roster changes from week 1 to 2 and have 4 changes from week 2 to 3. However, they have all been the right moves... so far.
Alby, that only works out for you because you think Vick will outpass Brady. Reverse that, and now you have to compare both Vick and Brady to Eli and Smith to determine whether Brady's expected extra passing yards will matter. Ergo, the Vick-Brady comparison is not the only meaningful comparison.
Sloww:
No. Wouldn't matter in the past. Doesn't matter today. Won't matter in the future. Based on your last post, I don't think you understand the question that was asked.
Now that we obviously have everything settled with respect to who comparisons should be made to and with and straightend out the whole QB yards rushing issue... QBs also tend to score in the TD category. 3 points for a TD pass and 6 for actually scoring it. This should be fun!
For those that actually looked at the scoring syastem, I think you are starting to understand why it is a vastly better FF system than stats directly to points. It really makes a difference who you are playing and what players they have on their team compared to yours. Levels upon levels of strategy that just aren't there in standard FF scoring.

ergo that's all that matters because I was stating my opinion... if I think Vick will outpass Brady, any other comparison is meaningless.
Maybe I need to take a step back... I made by Vick pronouncement and Donegeal says the comparison should be between them and Eli/Smith, not between Vick and Brady.
I point out my comparison is sufficient because I think Vick will outproduce... ergo, he's the best option to start, regardless of however Eli or Smith do... it's not like HE can start Eli or Smith instead. He only had Brady and Vick to go by. I suppose a comparison of all the QB's would let him be able to estimate his chances of winning but it doesn't increase his chance of winning because Eli/Smith is out of his control.
I am completely lost as to why I need to compare any other QB's. Seriously. You're making absolutely no sense to me, Solomwi.

"I have nothing against Wilson, but he's nowhere near the same calibre of QB as Flutie. Flutie threw for 5k+ yards in the CFL." -Ben Kenobi
None of that makes Vick-Brady the "only meaningful comparison". It makes Vick-Brady the "only meaningful comparison as long as we stipulate that the result of it is Vick winning". This really isn't difficult, Alby.

Which is what I contend! Which means I had no purpose in comparing anyone else! Why is this difficult for you, Solomwi?

It's not, Alby. The difficulty is on your end, where ex post results get taken back to the front end to determine what is meaningful.
Does he get to decide who he faces? Does he get to pick who his opponent starts between Eli and Smith?

Damn, crap games in Chicago at noon. Dallas-Houston and Atlanta-New orleans are out there, but we get a choice of:
Tenn-NYG or Det-Minn. WTF, networks!
