      Actually, I'm not a Lions fan though I live in Michigan. I'm a Dolphins fan.

                            Yeah, he was a headhunter. But it was an era where that was actually a pretty typical and accepted style of play.

                              I think it was more the aftermath that was Stingley's complaint than the hit itself (as unnecessary is it may have been...hitting hard enough to cripple in a preseason game?) but in any case, yeah, I know, it was legal.

                                I'd like to mention that Jack Tatum had to have his left leg below the knee amputated several years ago. Take that as you will.
