Last year, we got two in. If I remember about 7 of us tied the first one in week six where we all had a big favorite that went down. The next one last through the end of the season, and we needed a bunch of tie breakers. It really all depends on what happens on the fieldKeep on Civin'

On the surface Survival is a lot calmer, with no draft or lineup adjustments, but there's more to it than meets the eye.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

ACS Salary League
WEEK 4 RESULTS
Zopp set a new high score while winning week 4. Snoopy was close behind him. They both rode the back of the SF defense, which scored an amazing 39 points. Their efforts this week moved them up to 3rd and 4th place. gjramsey moved up to first place with a solid 92 point week.
As the bye weeks continue, so does the fun

Poly Pickers Survival Football - Week 5
Most people had the Giants or the Steelers, and never even worried for a second. On the other hand, Jr and I had Dallas, and it was a long afternoon. But in the end, everybody survived for yet another week.
Good luck for week 6.

Doubtful IMHO. The slam-dunk teams get used up by the halfway point. Add to that an upset or two along the way and our remaining top ten will be literally decimated. I will be shocked if it gets to Week 10.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Yep! "Any given Sunday..."
This week, I had originally picked the Giants. And then when there was "some" doubt that Manning would play, I switched to Dallas. Well, when I heard that Manning indeed would play, I never went back and changed it, since Dallas looked like a big lock as well. It was a LONG AFTERNOON
Cincy was a 8 and half point dog yesterday, and they won. People will go down now that many have used a lot of the great teams.Keep on Civin'

The problem is not the slam-dunk teams... it's the slam-dunk losers. Oakland, Detroit, Kansas City, Saint Louis, just for starters. While occasionally one of them will post an upset, so far they generally haven't [their two collective wins come only at the expense of other terrible teams] and so it's reasonably likely that a high number of people will pick correctly each week. Last year there were really only two slam-dunk losers, and that meant a higher percentage of us picked the same team each week - making it likely that we all lose [like actually happened] on the same week. As long as we have 3 or 4 slam-dunk losers to pick against collectively, the odds are we'll only lose one or two teams each week at most - and many weeks none. (Also, having so many slam-dunk losers means more selection from slam-dunk winners; for example, I think most people realized that NYG vs OAK was a much safer bet, for example, than DAL vs KC, except for those who took NYG against one of their earlier weak opponents.)
I'm not expecting us to go 17 weeks; but I think the odds are much higher than they are most years of it. I'd be very surprised if the league is finished by week 10; I'd expect the mean finish at this point to be around week 12 or 13.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Hm, I see your point. But the 4 pathetic teams you mentioned all sucked last year as well. At the start of the season, most everyone was projecting doom for teams like Cinci, Denver and the Jets -- and all are contending. So when you think about it, it could be worse. And every week, there's one more good team you can't pick, while some of those bad teams will pull it together to become mediocre. In addition, it seems that every year, there's one week that is just full of upsets, and we haven't seen that yet. So it's not surprising that, five weeks in, there haven't been many tough choices yet.
So I'll stick with Week 10 as my projection.
FWIW, I took Dallas because I don't like the way they look this year, and it was a must-win game against a pretty bad team. I got away with it, and now I can't be tempted to take them again.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
