  • Yes. I know that. That's what I said. Reading is fundamental, Sloww.

However, as I also said, the way the rule is often practiced is similar to the bottom of pile in a fumble; whoever winds up with the damn thing wins.

Glad to see South Florida beat down FSU. USF is an underrated (but very inconsistent) team, and hopefully this gives them and the Big East some quality press.

      • I'm not surprised by the Ducks winning; I expected them to beat the Bears. Cal is reliably, inexplicably overrated. But I wasn't expecting an old-fashioned pimpslapping.

        Same story with VaTech-Miami.

Never know what to make of USF, but good on 'em. They might be the only other team in the Big East able to seriously challenge Cincy.

Since when? This isn't like the Bush Push, which I fully recognize as being a rule that's never enforced.

No. Flat out, it was a ref error that had a material impact on the outcome of the game. Don't try to make excuses.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

          • I was surprised it was called an INT. But for coming back to win.

Forcier made some freshman mistakes. One was not throwing the ball out of bounds when he had the chance, but waiting till he was going down, and he landed hard on his throwing shoulder, which he favored the rest of the game. Hope it's not too bad.

Yes, I said it was a ref error. Ideally, that call goes Indiana's way. However, that call often doesn't go the right way. That is nothing new. Nor was it the deciding factor in the game; the Hoosiers were trailing by three with two minutes left at the time. There was no guarantee they were going anywhere.

Heading into their first road game of the season (always a Michigan-killer), to a very hostile stadium, against a very desperate team that sees Big Blue as their #1 rival, with our starting QB possibly significantly injured, and our backup center snapping the ball high, low, left, right, and all points in between?

                Oh yeah, we'll be fine.

                • Miami is ruining all my potential entertainment with their crapitude. Hopefully this just builds up to a bigger fall for VA Tech later. Maybe a big loss to Maryland.

One other little fun fact I neglected to mention:

Our defense has more holes than Phil Spector's alibi. I'll actually be rather surprised if we win next week, even if Forcier is healthy. Michigan just never plays well in their first road game... I think they've only won one of their last ten road operners.
