I don't know who that is.

3rd-year WR from Illinois State with 4.3 speed. Had a decent rookie year, missed 2008 injured.

Hey Imran. I can't believe it's been 3 years gone by since I first spoke of Matthew Stafford to you and his going to Georgia. I only saw him play in the state championship, but that was all it took. I didn't even think he'd be this highly regarded, maybe the #1 pick. He's telling Detroit to pick him.

According to an ESPN.com report, the NFL has suspended Bills running back Marshawn Lynch three games for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

The commissioner's office could make the announcement as early as Thursday regarding Lynch, the Pro Bowl running back who was arrested in February on three felony gun-posssession charges.

Lynch's primary backup, Fred Jackson, is reportedly sitting out Buffalo's "voluntary" offseason workouts, in search of a new contract. He is an exclusive-rights free agent, meaning he's not allowed to talk with any other teams without permission.

Yep, I remember... I still think he's highly overrated (as do most Georgia fans). He's horribly inconsistent. I think Detroit is making a mistake if they took him. Go Offensive Line, morons!!

Yeah, I liked him a lot. Was a good 3rd WR. Guess he didn't fit into the plans.

The Cincinnati Bengals added some much-needed size on their defensive line by reaching a one-year agreement with Tank Johnson, according to a source.

For Johnson, whose career started with the Bears and most recently continued with the Cowboys, he will get a chance to go back to a more natural position along the defensive line. Johnson will play the "three-technique'' for the Bengals, giving him the chance to do some pass rush and shoot the gaps to make plays. The Cowboys tried to make him a nose tackle in their 3-4 defense the past couple of years.

Free agent defensive end Jason Taylor told a reporter Wednesday that he was in talks with the Miami Dolphins, the team he played for the first 11 seasons of his career. One of the Dolphins' AFC East rivals, however, doesn't appear to be in the running. From ESPN.com:

Taylor still can't stomach the idea of playing for the New York Jets.

"It'd be very, very, very difficult. Very difficult," Taylor said while taking a break from a free, two-day football camp for local boys and girls. "But at the end of the day, if you can't find a job anywhere else and the Jets call, I guess you've got to retire or go play."

The six-time Pro Bowler recently said at another Jason Taylor Foundation event he would have a hard time playing for the New England Patriots after so many years hating them, but he also mentioned how flattered he was to read comments from Patriots owner Robert Kraft that they would love to sign Taylor.

"But the Jets are the Jets," Taylor said with a beaming smile. "I've had a lot of history saying bad things about Jets fans. The fireman hat guy [Fireman Ed] and all of the people in New York that are Jets fans are not the ones that are working on Wall Street. I've said all of those things. So I've got to leave it at that."

                    • T.O. will feel right at home in Buffalo

Buffalo Bills defensive back Donte Whitner was shocked with a stun gun and arrested by officers trying to control a rowdy crowd outside a Cleveland nightclub early Saturday, police said.

Whitner was jailed for aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, Lt. Thomas Stacho said. The former Ohio State star was released later Saturday and hadn't been charged, police said. A prosecutor was to decide whether to file charges.

Police shocked and handcuffed Whitner, 23, outside the House of Blues after he forced his way past them and then broke free from officers trying to restrain him, Stacho said.

Officers heard reports that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. was having a birthday party at the downtown venue but couldn't confirm whether Whitner was attending, Stacho said. Whitner and Ginn were high school teammates and played for the Buckeyes.

It was unclear why Whitner tried to leave the club and head for the melee, though he told officers, "My cousin's out there, and they've got guns," according to a police report, Stacho said.

Whitner said he regrets the incident.

"It's not how I wish to conduct myself, and I apologize to all those involved," he said in a statement released through his agent, Neil Cornrich.

A Bills spokesman said Saturday the team wouldn't comment on Whitner until it had more information.

Whitner is at least the third Bills player to run into trouble with the law this year.

Police in South Carolina say they arrested 25-year-old safety Ko Simpson outside a bar in his hometown, Rock Hill, early New Year's Day when he interfered with officers trying to arrest his friends. Simpson's lawyer earlier wouldn't discuss the case; a prosecutor said Simpson had asked to enter a program that would remove from his record a charge of hindering police.

Running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested near Los Angeles in February when police found a weapon in a parked car. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge and was sentenced to 80 hours of community service and probation. He also was suspended for three games without pay by the NFL for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.

                      • Sounds like that Bills DB was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He might need to think about changing his places.

                          • Veteran NFL quarterback Byron Leftwich has signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Tampa Tribune reported. The team is expected to announce the signing Monday.

Leftwich, a former starter with the Jacksonville Jaguars, spent all of last season as the Pittsburgh Steelers' primary backup to starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The Tribune reported the Steelers offered Leftwich a two-year contract but that he was looking for better opportunities elsewhere.

In Tampa, Leftwich will compete with Luke McCown, Brian Griese and Josh Johnson for a starting job.

Leftwich appeared in five games with the Steelers during the 2008 season and passed for 303 yards and two touchdowns. His best season came with the Jaguars in 2004 when he threw for 2,941 yards and 15 touchdowns

                              • Kansas City added another veteran linebacker to its rebuilding roster Monday when it signed free agent Zach Thomas.

In an effort to fix one of the weakest positions on a team that went 2-14 last year, the Chiefs have acquired Mike Vrabel in a deal that also brought quarterback Matt Cassel from New England, and signed Monte Beisel.

Thomas, 5-foot-11 and 242 pounds, has 182 starts during a 13-year career, mostly with the Miami Dolphins. He has made the Pro Bowl seven times, but not since 2006. He played last year with Dallas and was an unrestricted free agent.

Under new coach Todd Haley and general manager Scott Pioli, the Chiefs plan to switch to a 3-4 defense. Having experienced linebackers is critical to such a switch, and both Vrabel and Thomas figure to start, Thomas on the inside.

The Dolphins selected Thomas in the fifth round (154th overall) of the 1996 draft and he immediately became a starter and a fixture in Miami. A leader of the defense there, he made all of his Pro Bowls with the Dolphins.

In all, Thomas has 2,043 tackles, third among active linebackers. His 17 interceptions rank fifth among active LBs.

The Chiefs also waived wide receiver Will Franklin on Monday. Franklin made one start last year and appeared in 13 games.
