Traditionally, both the Trojans and the Bruins wore their home jerseys when playing each other. Then the NCAA passed a stupid rule saying that any team not wearing the proper home/away jersey would be penalized one time out. For years, both teams complied.
At last Saturday's Trojan-Bruin game, the away team U.S.C. took the field in their home uniforms. Immediately after the kickoff, they were penalized one time out. Then U.C.L.A. called a time out.
The game looks so much better with the crimson and gold vs. the powder blue and gold.

I had heard that USC was going to do that. I hadn't heard that UCLA showed that kind of class.
They got charged two time outs. I wish they had needed them.

Computer rankings aren't the end-all, be-all of anything. Virginia Tech, Boston College, Georgia Tech... the cream of the ACC, right?
Vs. non-conference BCS and top non-BCS competiton, BC was 1-0 (Notre Dame). VT was 1-1 (barely beat Nebraska, lost to East Carolina!). GT was 1-1 (Mississippi State, lost to Georgia).
These teams played nobody of note.
Florida beat Miami and Florida State; Alabama beat Clemson; Georgia beat Georgia Tech and Arizona State.
Looking at the top three in each conference, the SEC has a massive advantage. Even beyond that, I'd take LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Vandy over Florida State and Miami and Clemson.
Georgia Tech beat Georgia.
ACK!

As I've stated, the Big 12 and the Big East are the only conferences that don't restart the tiebreaker process once a 3+ team tie is reduced to two teams.

And like I said, the argument isn't about the top teams (because the ACC doesn't have them), but about depth. 9 out of their 12 teams had 7 wins. Clemson finished the year 7-5 and finished 5th in the ACC Atlantic. They have 10 teams who are bowl eligible.
By comparison, the Big 12 had 7 out of the 12 teams with 7 wins or more (and there is a big dropoff after that). The Big 10 has 7 out of 11, with a big dropoff after that. The Big East had 6 out of 8, but Syracuse and Louisville were pretty bad. The Pac 10 had only 5 of 10 have 7 wins. And the SEC had 6 out of 12 have 7 wins.

Most likely bowl tie ins would have made it impossible for them to play in a bowl closer to New Years Day. And they want to play somewhere other than the Humanitarian Bowl again .

I know, but frankly to me that's worse than the BCS/playoff/whatever controversy. Boise State should be playing on New Year's Day (as should TCU, honestly).
Maybe the BCS should add a wildcard bowl that has no tie-ins, that plays the two best teams not affiliated with one of the big conferences and not in a regular BCS bowl, if there are two in the top 20 or so; and if there is only 1 in the top 20, then it is that team vs. the first out of the BCS.

I didn't know that anyone else noticed TCU flying under the radar.
Nov. 6 Utah 13, TCU 10, pretty close game.
Oklahoma 35, TCU 10, not a bad representation.
That's the two they lost.

I actually think that Boise St. vs. TCU is going to be a great game... but, ya, probably should be in a more TV friendly timeslot.

Let's not go too overboard, Dec 30th could work too .
We don't want to not have the game televised due to competition (no one is putting ANYTHING on against a BCS Game, and we have two on the 1st and then 2 games against each other at 1 PM and one at 11 AM that'll likely go until 2ish anyway).

Especially since in the BCS ranking, they are ranked higher than Ohio State, the at-large picked over them.
I know Immy and Jag will probably say that non-BCS team are only guaranteed one spot, but the Big 10 isn't guaranteed 2 slots and shouldn't have gotten the second slot.
