Close doesn't even begin to describe it. What impresses/worries me is how close the 7th/8th best teams are-- (plus the fact I am facing a very very hot team).

My job has become intensely busy lately so you may not see me around as much-- I am finding it tough to even get to yahoo to check my teams -- I really wish that there was a default setting of "Always play available player if there is a roster spot open"- Would have prevented me fro losing out on a SHUTOUT last week while I was travelling

My teams, especially my non-auction team, are getting murdered by injuries. I already have Kariya and Briere on the IR, looks like Bergeron may be out for a while with another concussion and now Selanne is going to be out 3-4 weeks with a cut leg muscle. It hasn't hurt me in the standings yet, but I have a feeling its going to catch up with me soon.

Edit: Forgot about already having to drop Brassard because of a season-ending shoulder injury.

1. it seems like one roster move can "unset" a whole bunch of things and

2. it was so super busy that I had little opportunity to look at things

MOSCOW -- New York Rangers prospect Alexei Cherepanov took performance-enhancing drugs for several months before he died during a Russian league game in October, investigators said Monday.

Investigators added that during his last year the 19-year-old player suffered from myocarditis, a condition where not enough blood gets to the heart, and should not have been playing professional hockey.

Cherepanov collapsed Oct. 13 while on the bench for the Omsk club Avangard in Russia's Continental Hockey League and died a short time later.

Russia's federal Investigative Committee said in a statement experts concluded from analysis of blood and urine samples that for several months Cherepanov "engaged in doping." A committee spokeswoman refused to specify the drugs Cherepanov allegedly took.

The committee said the club's medical team may carry legal liability, contending a "row of gross violations was committed by the medical brigade" helping Cherepanov.

"Among them, doctors arrived on the scene a full 12 minutes after Cherepanov collapsed, and the battery on the defibrillator to attempt shock Cherepanov's heart back into life was drained, the statement said.

Cherepanov's agent, Jay Grossman, declined comment when reached by ESPN.com.

The Rangers, through a team spokesman, also declined comment. The KHL's North American-based publicist also declined comment until further details could be attained.

Prosecutors this month accused the club's director of negligence. Mikhail Denisov has since been fired, and Monday's statement did not mention him.
