  • Good job Rays!!

A sweep of the Cubbies punctuated by a Carl Crawford Grand Slam tonight.

      Yup, good for the Rays

Too, bad the Cards are Pujols-less, Molina-less, Wainwright-less, and Wellemeyer-less and managed to get swept by the Royals preventing them from catching up with the Cubs

      • Heh, I hadn't noticed the Rays swept the best team in the NL. (cool) (bastards are still 2 games up on the Yanks).

        • Speaking of sweeps involving the Cubs.
It was mentioned last night on the broadcast that they don't allow people to bring brooms to Wrigley field so you couldn't see any in the crowds last night when
THE CUBS FINISHED THEIR SWEEP OF THE SOXS.

          • Well the Cards, might not have had a sweep but they showed why they have the best road record in the NL (2nd overall) by winning 2 of 3 at Fenway and taking the 3rd game to 13 innings (imaginewhat would have happened with Pujols playing

            • Yeah imagine if the Cubs had a healthy Soriano and Zambrano. (hmm it would have been hard to do better than a sweep )

Injuries are a part of the game and short of losing half your team to the DL, using it as an excuse is for whiners. (or at least till the cubs lose a few more to the injury list and then it will be back to simple complaining about bad luck)

And finally It's hard to believe that with the streak the Cubs have been on (forgetting those games in tampa)
That the Cards are still close. Quite impressive and scary if you're a Cubs fan.

Ah, the story of the life of a Cubs fan

BTW, have the Cards lost half their team to the DL yet? I haven't looked at in ages since it scares me

                • Wow, Felix Hernandez hits a grand salami off of Santana, and then sprains his ankle. The people at USS Mariner went from cloud 9 to hell instantaneously.

Time to kick the Mets when they're down, Yankees. Get it done.

                    • Of course, the Yanks have to deal with the mighty Pirates first... sheesh, I'm glad I didn't watch that game. Fugly.

Expert recap and game analysis of the New York Mets vs. New York Yankees MLB game from June 27, 2008 on ESPN.

Especially with Delgado getting 9 RBIs (team record) with 2 HRs, including a Grand Slam. Hey, maybe this game can get him going.
