Lawsuit seeks compensation for Super Bowl loss

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A lawsuit filed Friday by a former St. Louis Rams player and others seeks millions of dollars in damages from the alleged taping of Rams practices by the New England Patriots before the 2002 Super Bowl.

The Patriots won the game 20-17 in the Superdome.

The $100 million suit, filed on behalf of former Rams player Willie Gary in U.S. District Court in New Orleans, names the Patriots, team owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick.

Bears Release Mohammad and Sign Brown to extension

The Chicago Bears released veteran wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad on Monday, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting.

Muhammed finished the 2007 season, his third with the Bears and 12th in the NFL, with 40 catches for 570 yards and three touchdowns. He played his first nine years with the Carolina Panthers.

The Bears also signed defensive end Alex Brown to a two-year contract extension on Monday. Brown had two years left on his existing contract.

I was unhappy when they signed him in the begining! Good guy, but he dropped far to many passes and was just no longer anything better than a #2.

So now the question is "What are the Bears going to do at WR now the Musin is gone and Berrian will be soon?"

Here is your answer: Mike Haas will be the #1 guy. Bradley, who beat out Berrian for the #2 spot in 2006 only to lose it by injury, will be the #2 guy and Hester will be the very dangerous third option.

Signing Alex Brown to a two year extension (locking him up for 4 years) means that Mark Anderson will move back into the rotation or go back to being a situational pass rusher. Everyone is back to their proper positions.
