Everybody in the industry has their doubts as well about the "realness" of the numbers. However, they are consistantly bad across the board, so it does give a basis for comparison and provides the backdrop needed for the selling of advertising. Plus, it's all we have

Nope. Colts fans hate, and I mean hate, the Patriots. The majority have moved on, but there will always be 1 or 2 who will remind you for a few months (like last year when one idiot kept nagging me about the Bears loss until July ).

If they, for example, have an east coast bias (sample folks in NYC relatively more than in LA, for example), that would inflate these numbers compared to other numbers, yes?

The most annoying thing is that most of them are pretending to have been Giants fans since they got Eli just so they can brag more. The truth is that most of them considered Eli an embarrassment to the Manning name until recently. By recently I mean when the Giants almost beat the Pats in week 17.

BTW, I reliezed the Colts fans hatred (there isn't really a word that describe the extreme level of hate) of the Pats long ago.

I'm not going to quote this whole article here, because it's long, but I promise the site is non-scuzzy. It's about free agent Jerramy Stevens, whom I hope nobody signs. Frankly, it's one of the most disturbing things I've ever read. The quotes at the end from Bruce Allen are just chilling.

By the end of the story, it's hard to keep track of all the times he's been let off the hook with reduced or non-existent penalties. Especially when you start re-visiting all the times his judgments were reduced on condition of future good behavior.

Makes you wonder just how common this sort of leniency is at all the other football factories.

That's a lot of the problem. "Kids", of any age, get the feeling they can do anything without consequence. Why wouldn't they think such? Unfortuantely, he has athletic ability and got off the hook until he was way out of control.

I can see why the coaches would still support him, no problem with that-no one wants to be penalized for someone elses mistake. But the more responsible figures-the police, judges and prosecutors etc-big negligence there...
