How about Bournemouth? 14pts from safety with 7 games left, won 6 in a row needing a win today (and some other results to go their way) to stay up, and they drew.
Apparently in the final game they hit the bar and it bounced on the line, and Carlisle's only goal was offside...

At least Spain often plays good football, I usually support them if their interest don't clash with mine (even if I know better) But the Dutch are absolutely abhorrent of late. Bad football, mostly untalented players, even worse results. It took a small miracle for us to qualify, even though we were in by far the easiest group. And at Euro 2008 we'll be in the group of death. Like I said, snowball's chance in hell...
