  • I think some people need to get a life... a lot of the stories out of New York were about how bad it was for the game... blah blah blah...

We are talking spring training here... and it's just a game. No big deal. It was entertaining, and the fans and players had fun. Some writers need to just move along.

    • Steroids, HGH, congressional hearings, an idiot commissioner, competitive imbalance... but we're going to call out Billy Crystal, a very public lifelong Yankees fan, as "bad for the game"???

      • Yeah. If this were some random entertainer I might think it's dumb, but this is Billy Crystal. Why not??

They could've made him manager for the game... actually that might have been more interesting, but getting a MLB at-bat is definitely

Also, for the pitcher throwing him cutters out of the strike zone on 3-1. Throw him right up the middle

Yep. What ever happened to just having fun in Spring Training? I mean really... one at bat is going to ruin things?

Hell, it's baseball! I mean look how we still talk about the fun of the Eddie Gaedel at bat (he was 3 ft, 7 inches, so almost an automatic walk), and that was in a REAL game!
