OMFG are you guys still going on about this?

    1. Don Shula is a bitter old man who was baited into that answer.
    2. Video-gate is a non-story; the game is played on the field.

Not to single them out, but should we askerisk the Steelers? They proudly proclaim that they out-steroided the competition during their dynasty. There was a time when stickum was unregulated and used by just a few in the know; same with gloves. Linemen gained an edge by modifying the fit of their jersey. And the RF signals to the QB helmet are easily intercepted with a common scanner - a disaster waiting to happen.

Point being, there have been plenty of championship teams (and desperately marginal players and teams) that have grabbed every available advantage, within and outside bot the letter and intent of the rules. Not one of them sports an asterisk.

Before this season began, the Pats were easily the consensus favorite. They are, so far, performing as expected. What is your freaking problem with that????

The only post in the previous 2 days was agreeing with you.

So, no, nobody is going on about it.

You forgot the best cheat of all, Greg Pruitt:

The Greg Pruitt rule established tear-away jerseys as illegal. Pruitt purposely wore flimsy jerseys that ripped apart in the hands of would-be tacklers.

I remember him going through a lot of jerseys every game.

      ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!

Tuber tearaway jerserys were legal - or at least not illegal. Same with Steriods in teh 70's andStick-um - who, if I remeber correctly, Fred Bilentnekoff (sp?) was the master.

Thats not the point of "no asterisk". There has never been an asterisk in sports for illegal activity that I am aware of. The occurence is either disqualified or allowed, maybe with a penalty. In fact, the only asterisk I know of (Maris' 61 HR's) was a political decision that later genrations looked back at and reversed.

What the Patriots did was illegal and if the Commissioner rule that they should forfiet that game they would have a loss. If he ruled they should forfiet all games for the remainder of the season they would be 0-16. The point is there is a ruling so an asterisk serves no purpose in this situation or baseball or anyother sport as far as I can tell.

I can't be bothered with checking the dates of posts. They were new to me.
