You tell me. Is a coach something that can change the nature of a team? Produce wins for them? Influence the game?

Most commentators have said that there would be little benefit to the Pats for the tapes they made...is a slight advantage worth more than a good coach?

I think it's apples and oranges; and I don't think the commentators know, and I don't think it matters what commentators think.
And that doesn't even address if the vaunted commentators are correct, because all that means is that the Pats tried and failed. That's better?

Ok, then go on the facts. The Pats have said that the tapes were used for analysis for future games, not to steal signs in the game during which they were made, despite what all the commentators have said. Is a bit of extra data to analyze worth more than a guy who can actually, you know, do the analysis?

It was illegal. That ends it. It doesn't matter what they say they were trying to do, because it's illegal.

Er. So was tampering with Shula. It was illegal, which ends it. Thus, hypocrisy.

The guy that sacked Manning and caused the fumble to end the game was being blocked by the LT.

So, yeah, it did make a big difference.

The biggest difference being that the tampering with Shul didn't happen during the undefeated season, unlike the camera thing which would, in fact, happen uring the Pats undefeated season.

If the Pats go undefeated next year,, the asterik debate would be even more pointless than it is now.

Eh, I can see people complaining about previous years more than this one, actually. Given the current scrutiny I'd have to guess the Pats aren't doing anything untoward at the moment. The only tape they made this season they never got a chance to see and had no effect on this years games...unless there's anybody lurking about that thinks the Jets would have put a good old-fashioned beating on the Pats if it weren't for their nefarious camera...

How do you know it's the only tape? They said so?

Green was being blocked by the center and right guard on that play, not the left tackle.

Uh...come again? There were many tapes from past years...that was established.

If you mean the only tape from this year...well, I can't argue with you if you're going to presume guilt with no evidence.

Accord to Dr. Z. it was Ugoh's replacement Charles Johnson.

According to the video at NFL.com, it wasn't. Green lined up over the center, who he drove deep into the backfield. Manning slipped to the right. Green came off the center, got checked by the right guard, and hit Manning.

                              That damn Dr. Z.

                              He stands corrected.

As for the Shula complaint - the best you could hope for is some sort of issue with previous seasons. - This tape was confiscated in the 1st quarter of the first game and was not seen by anyone on the Patriots. How could it help them this season?

Plus do we really have to start talking about asterisks EVERYTIME a rule is broken. It's starting to get silly.
