            I think that .692 will be his save percentage for the night as they pulled him after the fourth goal

            Now as you point out that Toskala helped out Ward's less then stellar week last week, lets hope that he can return the favour this week

                I'm in early on Wed/Fri, so I've got an earlier bed time.

                I wouldn't get too excited about the Flames win (it's Nashville, the new-old St Louis), though Iginla is now 2nd in the league in points (behind Zetterberg with 1 more GP IIRC).

                  Did you watch the game?

                  Tanguay played great-- his assists were very nice plays. Kipper was excellent for a whole game for one of the first times this season. Lombardi had good jump. Nystrom-- Nystrom was noticeable all night for his high energy-- it was like he was saying "look at me" as he raced around the ice. When he scored ( his first of the season) a couple of minutes after he had done a PK where he blocked 3 or 4 shots in succession, the whole Dome roared.

                  For some reason they made Langkow third star behind Iggy and Kipper but I thought he ranked behind Lomabardi, Tanguay and Nystrom for star power on the night. I didn't think Langkow was that noticeable really.

                  Oh and Owen Nolan-- made a number of decent plays and got a couple of good shots off but still no results. I don't know how long he can stay on the top two lines with Moss and Lombardi on the third line if he doesn't start getting results. In some ways he reminds me of Amonte last year-- you would notice his flurry of active hard-working play but nothing ever seemed to go in.


                  Even though it was Nashville it was actually a good game to watch-- Lots of shots on either end-- lots of hitting etc

                  Oh and mason? He did not look good . He made a couple of really nice stops but a few of the gooals were very stoppable.

                  last comment -- Referee McGooooooo was awful as usual. I say this because he

                  1. missed an elbow to the face right in front of him
                  2. Seconds later called nashville on a phanthom call-- I wondered if it was a makeup call since they showed the elbow a bunch of times
                  3. Made 3 or 4 calls on stuff that was 5 feet away from the other referee and right in front of the other referee. Does he really think he sees it better from 80 feet away
                  4. I know hockey pretty well and I tended to agree with the calls of the other ref even when it was against the Flames. Mcgooooooo . .. it was less than half-- it just seems so freakin arbitrary

                      Dion Phaneuf and Adrian Aucoin have been together for eight games and they are combined plus-19 during that span.


                      Impressive.

                        Aucoin is certainly helping me get my plus-minus up Him, lidstrom, and those two Toronto centers who have to fall back to earth sometime but I'm going to ride them as far as I can

                                Ahh I hadn't checked the rosters-- Pretty good player to have on the plus minus and he should get some points but his lack of current PP time will hurt. The Flames first PP unit last night was generally Iggy, Huselius, Langkow with Phaneuf and Tanguay lining up at the points. They often took 1:30 to the whole two minutes

                                I am liking the Phanuef- Aucoin more and more although last night there were a couple of Aucoin miscues early where Phaneuf and Kipper had to save his bacon
