This night is not going well for me-- Kolzig is NOT playing and my skaters have no points and are a cumulative -4

The only upside is that I am now so very far behind in plus minus that I don't even worry about that category anymore this week

I didn't say you were going to lose the week-- you opponent isn't having a great week at all so you seem pretty safe-- But it took precisely 1 night from those great goalie stats to trailing, highlighting how fickle a night or two can be in how these stats go

Yes, I've been doing Yahoo H2H for years in several leagues each year. I'm aware they can go from good to bad and bad to worse and awful to stellar in a short time.

I am now seeing the downside of the centre ice package-- Normally I would have just heard about my two Sabres being pointless-- Now instead I got to witness the dozen good scoring chances those two missed, the hit crossbar AND the later post--arrgghhh-- I have seen how many very very great offensive plays they made, all in vain --

If you are going to be pointless , I would almost rather I didn't notice you

Sorry, in my other league I have Brodeur and Khabi and my oppo has Kolzig and Biron.

It's not being a hardass. Many coaches with great success have been hardasses (many of the greats).

It's being clueless about how to handle teams and players that aren't doing well.

Why do you necessarily think there would be an issue. If he gives Iggy, for instance, 23-24 minutes including first line PP and there is no/little production over a number of games, any coach would and should try something else. Its all well and good to cite Iggy's slow start but there comes a time when you decide to put out the guys playing the best RIGHT NOW . . . If that results in wins, I can't see Iggy complaining . . . and the reality is that the Flames are not super deep in offensive talent so an Iggy will always get a fair bit of ice to prove himself

Although iron MIke does have a definite "style" about him, I suspect some of his tendencies have gotten overblown in the re-telling-- I suspect he will be just fine--

But this season will tell a lot about the Flames-- Last year were they a bunch of underachivers or were estimates of the talent of team a bit too high?

I see the ingredients for a pretty solid hockey club there-- If Iron Mike is a "good coach" he should be able to get enough from his team that the early season and road ghosts from last year quickly dissapate

And as a newbie to this I think I am going for the award for most active manager I was actually a little sorry to drop Bieksa but Gerber has made that worthwhile so far -- I just wish yahoo had put Emery on injured reserve so I wasn't essentially playing with one less roster spot-- but c'est la vie

Oh and anyone want Bobby Ryan -- he's playing all of 8 minutes a game lately on an Anaheim team that is exhibiting some extreme suckage--Still available on waivers!!!


Oh -- I have totally forgiven zubov his minus 4 against Colorado-- Its amazing how a PPG and a PPA changes a viewpoint.

And I am learning how fragile a lead can look-- I have a lead of 1 in four different categories-- It would be really easy to lose that on a night when snoopy has 8 skaters going. Its funny too, since I thought I picked a team that would be pretty good on plus minus but I trail by EIGHT -- WTF??

You picked a starting roster just the same as everyone else. There's not much playing involved? It's hands-off, unlike Yahoo.

I slotted some names into the interface to see how it worked-- I didn't even field a full roster or read how the points work-- So I guess that's playing

Oh ya and I see that not fielding a full roster means none of your positive scores count so my "team" can never score points--

I didn't think it'd let you score points at all, but it still lets you earn minus points. How generous of them.
