    (mimics an offense better since there are 5 linemen)

    4 bench players 12 rounds.

    I just remember from last year that It was hard to find RBs (especially during bye weeks) and 18 rounds seemed to go on forever, since anyone worth a snot would be trading for the undiscovered finds in the first few weeks anyway.

      It's whole numbers only normally, so 11 yards = 0 points, 12 yards = 1 point, 23 yards = 1 point, 24 yards= 2 points, etc. No 0.0833 to worry about

          That's not true. Yahoo scoring is done to hundredths of a point.

            I think defense is generally too weak, QBs too strong, and screwing up not penalized enough. I don't particularly care about a relation to reality other than for purposes of balancing, though in some places it's nice.

              I would like to see a penalty for off sides, especially on the offense.
              Dock their asses.

                    IMHO re Koy's post... (BTW, is he in this league?)

                    Five for a safety???? And -4 for missing a PAT kick? That's over the top. I understand that a safety should be worth more than an INT, but 5??? And blocked kicks are useless as a category.

                    Missing a field goal is its own penalty. You get nothing.

                    To upgrade defense, use 3-4 IDP guys instead of Def/SpecTeam.

                    To downgrade QBs, make passing TDs worth 4 instead of 6. That'll teach those damned QBs...

                      A safety was counted as 2 points for the score + 3 for a turnover. A missed PAT is such a monumental screwup that it should be penalized heavily. The other stuff, yeah, I'm pretty meh about it, but those were the general principles I was working from.

                          Missed PATs happen about, what, 5 times all year? Why burn a category on it?

                            Penalizing PATs heavily, although it might make you feel better, is bad for game balance. It happens so infrequently that it's not really a matter of strategy, it's just randomness. Therefore it should either not be penalized at all (my preference) or at most 1 point.

                            Are we (as a group) on remotely the same page here? It looked like it for a while and now everyone has a totally different idea of what we're playing... ??

                            I prefer post #31 (Berz') except safety a bit more (4 or 5) and points for INT, and combining fumbles into fumbles lost [-3]. (Unless fumbles recovered count for offense as well, then it should just be fumbles straight up so it balances out.)

                              Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't really care, I just thought that I'd throw a system out there since everybody else was. Berz' is fine, though I'd say 10yds/1pt for RB, and 4pts for a passing touchdown are good numbers.

                                Is it really that tough to divide your rushing yards by 12 ? Yahoo does it for you if it is. Would 15 be easier? I prefer 12 or 15, 10 is a bit too much imo but we'll have to vote on it either way.

                                We have the option of using fractional scoring and we have used it in the past. Having a RB/WR get 18 yds and not count sucks.

                                If we want to make this real simple, we could just eliminate points for catches, but that just lessens the impact we want from WRs, true? While giving a point for a catch makes receivers more important, it makes them a bit too important wrt RBs. I dont mind 20 for rushing since RBs get more TDs and more than make up for the difference, I'm just inclined toward reducing the importance of TDs wrt the rest of the game.

                                So I'll vote for 12 or 15 yds rushing per point.
