You are misinformed. Recently Russians have won this year's junior championship. We beat Yankees in final and what pleases me the most is that two decisive goals have been shot by Cherepanov and Averin - both players of my home city team.Originally posted by Asher

THe U18 tournament is like the World Championship-- it is held at a time when a LOT of the very best players cannot come ( since they are in the major junior playoffs)
The World junior is at Christmas and its like the Olympics or Canada Cup-- you get the best players-- That is the tournament that Canada wins more often than anyone else latelyYou don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto LuongoComment

Blah... junior playoffs. The leader of our recently victorious team Aleksei Cherepanov despite he is only 18 has played 90 games for my home city team in the Russian regular championship. We've won only broze this year ('cause we've been kicked out by ex-Malkin's team Metallurg in semi-finals, whom we crushed three years in a row when Malkin played, and who later won the entire championship).
