I'm reading about the guy the 'yotes got for Laraque (in addition to the 8th rounder).
Former Mississauga IceDogs problem child Dan Carcillo is back making
news this week with his latest comments from Pittsburgh Penguins
training camp. For those of you unaware of Mr. Carcillo's antics:
Last season he was given a 15 game suspension in October for
cross-checking St.Mike's forward Matt Halischuk in the face. I can only
recall a handful of things that have ever made me physically ill
watching a hockey game (Malarchuk getting cut, Bertuzzi on Moore, Wade
Belak defending his own zone) but this was definitely one of them.
Halischuk, a rookie at the time, needed 20 stitches to close the gash
above his lip and required dental reconstruction. There was enough
blood on the ice that cleaning crew brought out a large shovel to cart
off the spillage and a few teeth.
After the game Carcillo went to the Majors dressing room and said sorry as Halischuk's face was packed full of gauze.
In January, Carcillo was back at it again this time decimating the
teeth of Sudbury Wolves D-man Adam McQuaid with another vicious
cross-check to the face. The OHL suspended him for the rest of the
season in what amounted to 23 games.
His first game back (Game 1 of the IceDogs first round series vs.
St.Mike's) Carcillo lashed out at the officiating with an extremely
calm, profanity filled tirade after a 3-1 loss.
In camp with the Penguins, Carcillo has now apparently had time to
reflect on those incidents and his anger issues this week after
speaking with reporter Jonathan Bombulie of The Citizen's Voice:
"Sometimes, when I'm (angry) or argued with the girlfriend or
something, you just want to go out and kill somebody, right? So I have
to sometimes calm myself down before games," Carcillo said. "But for
the most part, I'm all right."
Wow..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

So how did the pens trade an 8th round pick?
I hope it was a joke to show how stupid Phoenix's GM is...The penguins GM says something like "tell you what, to sweeten the deal I'm going to throw in an 8th round pick!""The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
