So? Then the Falcons can move on, without him.

Realistically though, the Falcons can't afford to pay both Vick and Brohm's salary. They'd be better off trading Vick for some better draft picks. I'm sure some NFL GM is dumb enough to take him...

Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, wide receiver Anquan Boldin, defensive tackle Darnell Dockett and safety Adrian Wilson contributed as much as they could to Arizona during the season.
But they have been entrusted with the role of making even more important contributions during the offseason.
Each of the four players has been asked to interview the head-coaching candidates that have visited Arizona over the past week. The Cardinals want the players to conduct their own line of questioning and report back to ownership, which has formed its own impressions during its own interviews.
Monday, the Arizona players spent time interviewing Tenneessee offensive coordinator Norm Chow, who also met with Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart. On Tuesday, the Cardinals players and ownership group are expected to interview Steelers assistant head coach Russ Grimm.
It has created extra rounds of talks for the candidates, but the Cardinals want to do everything they can to come up with the best possible hire.

It's very different for the NFL, but not uncommon in the business world. Having key people interview their possible future boss was done at my last corporate gig. It's not just about hiring the right person, but also about getting the rank-and-file to buy in to their new leadership. Lets them know (or at least believe) their input was part of the hiring decision, even if they're not in the room when that decision is made.

Yep... it's a pretty good idea. If there is something about the candidate that rubs the players the completely wrong way, you'll know it before you hire the guy, not after.

It's a pretty good idea maybe in the corporate world where team members may stay longer than, oh I don't know, Warner.

Warner, though, has some experience and probably would know a good coach. That and he may be being groomed as a QB coach for the Cards or something.

On the Fox pregame show they said the Dolphins were having a 2nd interview with Jim Mora. :shudder:
OK, there are a few other candidates.
Dolphins to pay Capers; new head coach next?
By Chris Mortensen
ESPN.com
The Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement with defensive coordinator Dom Capers on a deal that will make him the highest-paid assistant coach in the NFL.
Capers' new deal is for three years and an estimated $8.1 million, team sources confirmed. His salary in 2007 will be $2.6 million, equal to that of Washington Redskins assistant head coach/defense Gregg Williams, but Capers will get raises of at least $100,000 per year in 2008 and 2009.
Capers' current deal was set to expire on Sunday; he would have been able to talk with other teams, but he would not have been able to sign with another team until Feb. 1.
Also, New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has emerged as a finalist in the Dolphins' search for a head coach, sources confirmed.
Schottenheimer will have a second interview with the Dolphins on Tuesday, one day after Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin gets his second interview as a finalist.
Tomlin, however, said talk of a second interview was speculation.
"I haven't heard from those guys yet," he said, according to the Miami Herald. "I haven't talked to those guys about any kind of second interview."
Meanwhile, former Falcons head coach Jim Mora will have his second interview with Miami Sunday night and Monday.
The Dolphins have pared their list from 12 candidates to four or five.
Schottenhenheimer just finished his first season as a coordinator. The 33-year-old son of San Diego Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer is the youngest coordinator in the NFL. Brian Schottenheimer was the quarterbacks coach in San Diego prior to joining Jets coach Eric Mangini's staff this past season.
Tomlin, who will turn 35 in March, also just completed his first season, as a defensive coordinator. Tomlin is a finalist for the Pittsburgh Steelers vacant head coaching position, too.
Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey and San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron also are believed to be finalists for the Dolphins' job.

Jay Glazer of FOXsports.com reporting today that Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt has accepted the Arizona Cardinals head coaching job.
The job was reportedly offered to Mike Sherman first, but the Bidwills balked at his salary demand of $4MM/year.
So it seems like the Bears get to keep Ron Rivera for another season. As his best chance seemed to be the Cards job. I don't think Miami wants him. Though, he's far, far better than Mora.

It seems like Pittsburgh is going with Grimm OR Chan Gailey, who is also in the mix for Miami (Gailey would be a mistake, IMO).
I think that's the reason Whisenhunt jumped so quickly, because it looked to him that he wasn't in the running for the Steelers' job.

The Steelers have narrowed their list of head-coaching candidates to Russ Grimm, Ron Rivera, and Mike Tomlin.
Chan Gailey is out of it and, as the Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette reported Monday morning, Mike Sherman won't be interviewed. Tomlin and Grimm are scheduled for second interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. The Steelers will obviously have to wait if they want Rivera.

Though I hear the Dolphins' final two are Gailey and Mora
I feel for those Miami fans, I do.. but that's just funny. Why not just get Wannstedt again?
