I had a few minutes so I actually went over and read the thread.
Thumbs up for Loc and Solver and Bu for trying to voice the attitude of fresh start.
Thumbs down for ZOID displaying the dark side that they claim is a poly problem. Obviously they didn't run far enough away. The darkness followed them and will eventually destroy them (it sounded good when I was thinking it )

That Zoid was supported for being an ass and Asher banned for just being a bit annoying is totally ridiculous. But not unexpected.

Aeson made a post basically explaining the truth about the Philippines after he got there, that things were not as they were promised in one of Lancer's famous sales pitches. Those posts got deleted from WPC and Aeson hasn't posted since (that I can see)...

IIRC it was most along the lines of violence against women? Or Foreigners? Something like that.

I believe it was originally over at Whoopsie and was deleted after Lancer complained. The issue, so I heard through the grape vine, was that a young teenage Filipino girl didn't want to marry and old white foreigner and instead wanted to marry a local boy her own age so her father beat her and threatened to disown her unless she married the "rich" old foreigner who was twice her age. Lancer got pissed off that someone would actually mention this kind of abuse and had a hissy fit.

Here's the summary from someone who saw the WPC posts before they were deleted on Lancer's request:

The panda site thing was basically Aeson saying that yes, there are bad things that go on there and there was an accusation of a guy whipping his daughter to get her to marry when she wanted to be with somebody else. Lancer came back with a serious case of Minitrue because he doesn't want foreigners scared off. I found it a little disturbing that the whole thread was cleaned up, but hey, I guess it's not unexpected.
