          A thread called "Robert Plomp" where everyone piled on and asked WTF was up with the arbitrary moderation.

              That thread ended in the graveyard. This one is the result of me moving some posts to create a thread where people could complain about the problems with moderation. No editing of posts was done.

              Probably was a mistake.

                      Ming, I don't think you've been around enough. People did give Plomp the benefit of the doubt, but NOW people have already given up on him.

                      In a few days he's already sent me PMs telling me he's going to unban Dale and basically to get over it, he's forced me to edit my posts for arbitrary and inconsistent reasons, he's deleted threads and posts arbitrarily, he's closed an ORIGINAL thread while a copy-cat thread (Which was friendlier to Christianity!) was left standing, and he's undermined the very moderators he's appointed to this forum. Not to mention his dangerous precedent of closing threads he deems to be "bad content" in the OTF.

                      The community has feared the new ownership would alter the OTF dynamic and rules, and it took only a day or so for that to materialize. You can't blame the community for that, Plomp is stepping on everyone's toes in a community he doesn't understand in an era where everyone is already checking out other sites to move to.

                        No they didn't... the games started right away, and continued to get worse as action wasn't taken. I've been watching and I can't say that I'm surprised at all the stupid little games people were playing. The only reason why the rules might change is because some people are forcing the owners hand... pretty silly if you ask me. So please don't try to even say that this is all the new owners fault.

                          This is nonsense because Plomp has been ****ing with my posts an hour after the admin changeover happened.

                          Yes, some people are way out of line but it started before that.

                          For instance, unbanning Dale so soon after what he did is just ****ing epicly unforgivable. What Dale did was a felony. Not to mention, in my opinion what Dale did was calculated just to stir the pot with Poly and help him make his case for a mass exodus to his new site. Something which, I point out, our new admin still hasn't figured out.

                            People have been trolling the new management, goading them into taking actions that they can they whine about. It's a two way street.

                              Considering both Locutus and Dale have flown off the handle in the past year and abused their power, it IS the truth.

                              You can defend the new admin all you want, Ming. But he's about 24-48 hours removed of chasing away the core on topic posters to WePlayCiv (where they promise to be more ontopic focused, as opposed to Apolyton neglecting the OT for a year) and the off-topic posters to sites like Counterglow which doesn't really have moderation at all.

                              He can deal with the trial by fire correctly or like an outsider that is out of touch with the community he just purchased, and he's chosen the latter. That's his problem.

                                Hmm, interesting. From my POV:

                                1. The actual OTF topics and posts haven't really changed much.
                                2. There was definitely some moderation beyond the OTF norm.
                                3. There was definitely a stronger-than-usual "stuck pig" reaction from those waiting to see if the new administration would be oppressive.

                                Given CyberShy's, um, "hands-on" history as diplogame host/admin, this was to be expected.
