A special two-hour Q&A with Dr. Jed Fahey, an expert on sulforaphane, chemoprotection, and phytochemicals.

    anyone familiar with broccoli sprouts?

I'm looking into H Pylori and stomach problems and apparently Oil of Oregano and Sulforaphane are good

glucoraphanin is the precursor chemical that combines with our own myrosinase enzyme to produce sulforaphane, but you can get supplements that combine the glucoraphanin with the myrosinase enzyme in supplement form to help boost the sulfoaphane production.

Diet-Based Prevention of Chronic Disease. Noted success using Sulforaphane, derived naturally from broccoli, with autism, cancers, other chronic diseases

he's wary of this food for people with cancer because it helps cells in general and you want to starve cancer, not make it stronger, I think.. Maybe the immune system needs help too so how do you build up that without strengthening cells you want to kill? Idk about fasting but it seems to me shutting off sugar to cancer cells is one way to fight it.

Maybe I shouldn't speak for him about that, the Q&A has a question about someone with bladder cancer and they want to know how to ward off a recurrence

Although the study was conducted using the predominant isothiocyanate found in mustardseed, we believe that the conclusions may apply equally to sulforaphane from broccoli sprouts and to moringin from Moringa oleifera.

Mustard seed may inhibit bladder cancer. Thats one of the foods I try to avoid because of my gerd. But I tell ya, I'm taking 3 650mg capsules of HCL + Pepsin with my 1 main meal of the day and I've noticed a change in my gerd for the better. It feels like my LES is closing better, I dont get the reflux in my back. Maybe low stomach acid can cause my problem, that would explain why I have a stomach ailment (infection?). I bought some Oil of Oregano but not the sulforathane, this guy sounds like a good source for brands and products.

I'm looking at the FAQ section at that site, Moringa leaves are a good source of myrosinase

btw, eating raw sprouts can be a source of nasty pathogens so prepare them well. I'm looking into powder supplements.

Okay, dont overcook this stuff or it loses what you need. So wash good, a brief stint in the microwave is okay, and mix it in with other food. I guess I'll have to look for Moringa leaves extracts now.

I'm trying, I never thought inactivity was a serious problem for me but I'm getting old. Just walking everyday is important, or pumping iron, or both. Just stay active.

I'm not very trusting of doctors, they're good with general knowledge etc but they dont seem to venture outside the box in their thinking. How many GPs are nutritionists? My docs told me to take PPIs forever. They didn't test my stomach acid, just shoved a tube into my stomach and found Barretts. Well, stomach acid matters damnit. I should have been researching this subject long ago.

I'm checking out Avmacal by Nutramax at Amazon... Expensive but the guy in the video said they use their products in clinical trials.

$60 for 75 pills but it has glucorathanin, Myrosinase and Meringa, but the reviews are kind of amazing. Yes I know Amazon reviews are suspect but these look like people with problems offer sincere applause. I'm reading stories from people with anxiety and mental issues, like Aspergers. No one with my problem wrote a review

I'll look around for other products and prices

Don't be silly, Berz, by searching a cure among the non-professionals at forum!
Yesterday, I read about a guy who has become addicted to a everyday chatting with AI and killed himself after his AI girfriend has told him "I'll see you on heavens".

You on the West are really went insane!

If you have health problems - go to the professionals!

If you want to build a spaceship, you don't go to the plumber for an advice about aerodynamics!

Berz is right about Doctors and nutrition -- most of them know next to nothing. Berz is wrong about his approach to to nutrition -- he's a reductionist when he needs to look at the big picture. Individual supplements are going to little positive effect*(IMO they are risky and should be avoided) and should just focus on eating a healthy diet(Mediterranean is good enough probably). Serb is right about exercise.
