Russia has definitely outperformed Ukraine's allies on the sanction front of the special operation. The only reason Russia has been more badly effected on that front than anybody other than Ukraine on that team isn't because it's less capable on that front, it's simply because the other team can spread out their trade losses associated with the sanctions so much more than Russia can. It would not surprise me at all if team Ukraine and friends have actually paid twice as large of a hit associated with the special operation and sanctions as Russia but they just don't feel it near as much because even 2x the losses will be much less painful spread over an economic area dozens of times larger than Russia.

When the dust settles I think Russia will be seen to have totally outmanoeuvred the West on trade even if it will have to bear it's costs alone.
