Interesting debate on the question of "What is life?"
Clearly an amoeba is recognized as alive, but we have no compulsion about killing them at any time. So we must ask...how is this different than a fertilized human egg? I would say the obvious answer is "potential"? Of course, the process of just having sex gives us the "potential" for human life. It seems like we need something more...
Brain Activity seems like the next logical thing to look at. Of course, we kill livestock in droves and they have brain activity. What distinguishes the small spark of brain activity in an embryo from brain activity in a "born" person? Do we know?
So I think the question has to evolve into "What is HUMAN life?" Is it a fertilized egg? Is it an embryo showing the first signs of brain activity? Or, is it something completely different? Say..."Conscious thought" maybe? Of course, how do we determine conscious thought from brain activity?
I don't know and I don't believe anyone else does either. Until we can fully answer that question, then I think we will always have a debate. It comes down to a person's individual feelings on that matter.
So...let's take the Constitution further. Let's, for the sake of argument, say the Supreme Court was right in saying that it was not a Federal Matter. In that case, it falls to the States OR THE PEOPLE. I think, as the ultimate arbiter of the Constitution, the court could clearly say that this determination lies with THE PEOPLE and not with the States. That would effectively overturn Roe AND leave abortion clearly legal as a choice that the people can make for themselves. It looks to me like they did their job overturning Roe, but missed an opportunity to truly return some power to the people themselves."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

So really, if you can convince the majority of the people that abortion after the first trimester should be legal, you'll get that. That's how it should have been in the 70s. Had liberals at the time allowed that process to occur, I suspect we would be in a different place today.
If the state can ban abortion it can require abortion, like China did with its 1 child policy
yeah, Republicans just gave the state the power to force women to have abortions
