The big reason that makes me doubt it was a false flag attempt is that it makes them look incredibly weak, if they can't even protect the Kremlin...

Maybe this time they got confused when staging a false-flag attack, and someone targeted the flag believing it was false?
In the rare event that the Kremlin thing was really from the Ukranians it would be perfect for psychological impact, showing that Ru air def is really a joke, esp. after Russian media reports made a fuss earlier about air defences being positioned on rooftops in Moscow.

Hitting that flag pole could point to such a symbolic "we-can-strike-anywhere-cuz-weak-Putin-is-weak" attack where the primary goal is not the actual material damage.

But then it's equally possible that Moscow did it for a variety of reasons. Esp. suspicious that they were quick to blame the US for it.

If the Donbass is blocking your view of Kiyv, then you must be sitting snugly in Russia. Not that we had doubts about it.

Didn't you want to punch Nazis back in 2017? I'm on the side of the people of the Donbas. Why aren't you?

Furthermore there is zero evidence of ethnic cleansing in pre-special operation independent Ukraine, so there really wasn't any 'slaughter' to watch, let alone stop.

Also, if shelling civilian areas during a hot war is 'slaughtering', then any planned intervention to stop that, should, at a bare minimum, refrain from shelling civilian areas dontcha think?
The USA wouldn't have waited 8 years. Thousands more would have died but they fled Azov and Russia intervened twice to stalemate their advances. That may have been when the west became amenable to Minsk to give Ukraine time to arm. Where did the millions of refugees go? Most went to Russia or parts of eastern Ukraine not under attack. The Ukrainian right wing - the muscle behind the Maidan coup and Donbas war - practices cultural cleansing. And I imagine they'd drive undesirables out of the country, so that would include dissenters of all stripes. Pretty much like Syria, we used fanatics to attack Russia in the name of democracy, mom, and apple pie.

I thought we won the cold war, why are we still fighting it? Money and power... So greed is our downfall. We bully everyone we can into doing what we want and China runs around playing peacemaker to our profitable conflicts. And they're doing it with wealth acquired from Americans. I hope the average American consumer prefers China using their money to make peace over Washington's efforts to create conflict. Hey, here's an idea... Lets plop an army down near Muslim holy sites to kill Iraqis and when pissed off Muslims attack us we can invade more of the Middle East.

Who started the shelling? Maybe we should deal with that before venturing into the ramifications of killing the innocent by accident with counter attacks on those doing the shelling. I believe the people of the Donbas had no moral obligation to support a right wing coup that drove the man they overwhelmingly elected from office. I believe they had the right to defend themselves when that right wing sent an army to attack them. I dont see any way around it, their moral high ground is blocking my view of Kiev.

There we go with the fake coupe lies again. Yes, people protested a corrupt government and the corrupt president fleed to his daddy in Moscow but he was legally removed according to the constitutionally mandated process. So, please explain how the parliament following the constitutional process for removing a corrupt President is somehow a "coupe".

Well, Russian troops dug up the Red Forest and irradiated themselves earlier. So, this is not surprising at all.
