last I heard the Biden administration was trying to twist Ukraine's arm to make those attacks stop with the moronic idea that the attacks would promote inflation in the US.

The Biden campaign did try to make Ukraine stop. Then it got bad press and NATO members told the Biden admin it was completely wrong, that Ukraine has to be allowed to win, and then countries like France and UK gave public permission to use their weapons on targets inside Russia. A week or so later the Biden admin flip flopped again and gave Ukraine permission to use US weapons on targets inside Russia.

Fair is fair as Russia attacks inside Ukraine so it should have to face Ukraine doing the same back to Russia. All of this happened a month or so ago back when Russia launched its now failed offensive towards Kharkiv.

I generally respect Anders Puck Niesen's views on the Ukraine war but here he seems to suggest that time is on Ukraine's side and that Russian defeat is probably inevitable and I completely disagree. I think there are far more scenarios where Russia totally defeats Ukraine and gets away with it than there are where Ukraine emerges without crippling concessions on territory and sovereignty let alone with no concessions at all. Ukrainian victory of any kind remains unlikely.

I clearly wrote that it is a joke show the flag excursion and nothing else. It is one tiny frigite and one cruise missile sub with an oiler and a tug boat. How you can misconstrue such a statement as someone else being scared is beyond me.

Last time Russia did a show the flag trip to Cuba their broken down ship had to sit in harbor for half a year waiting for a tug boat to tow it back to Russia for repairs.

There is no logistical tail for the few Russian ships. A few years back one of those pieces of junk broken down and had to sit in Havana harbor for four months while it awaited repair. This happens a few times a decade and it is purely a show the flag operation. In the event of war they would be sunk in probably less than an hour. They are all shadowed by American warships.

At least the stranded Russia sailors got to sit in Havana enjoying the company of desperate impoverished Cuban hookers and drinking low quality rum.. not that Russians would know better.

what total nonsense. listen to yourself. read your posts! If it is true, that Russia is deploying new vastly faster undetectable nuclear warhead delivery vehicles then that would certainly force the West to place nukes in Ukraine (and everywhere else near Russia) in exactly the same way you claim the West doing so would force Russia to act! Either Russians really believe that shortened nuclear weapon travel times force acts of war and that would also mean that Russia shortening their nuclear weapon travel times would force the West to go to war against Russia -or- they don't really believe shortened nuclear weapon travel times force a war, in which case it doesn't matter what nukes end up in Ukraine. It's impossible to simultaneously support decades of development and deployment of faster nukes and insist that doing so isn't an act of war while claiming that shortened nuke travel times for everyone else *are* an act of war.

Only Americans believe they can "strategically defeat" Russia.
In case your wet dream scenario would come close to be true - we will just incinerate you, because the alternative is our lone death, while in our rethaliation strike our murder will die too.

I imagine he is getting rid of Shpigu's lackeys and wants them replaced with people who are extremely loyal to him personally. Doctators rarely want ministers to be competent and popular because they might turn on the dictator. So they value loyalty above all else, preferably people who would also get killed if they do (which gives them extra incentive to stay loyal), and incompetence is often preferred so that no back stabs can really happen.
