Germany will deliver a third Patriot system to Ukraine. Which is nice and surely needed esp. as winter is coming, but it's also the easy way out for SlowScholz as he took the chance to decline the delivery of Taurus cruise missiles once again.
After anyone else moved on longer range stuff (that is Fra/UK on SCALP/StormShadow and the US on ATACMS) it is rather disappointing.
It is completely absurd that after all this time, and after now substantial deliveries of stuff, incl. heavy arty, various anti-air sytems, tanks we are still at endlessly debating and delaying. May not be the last word, because the same occured before every major new delivery...

Armenia - another brother country - now ungrateful for Russian peacekeeping?
Armenia's parliament votes to join the International Criminal Court in a move that Russia had already said would be an unfriendly step. Meanwhile, there are "surreal" scenes in the abandoned enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Armenian parliament on Tuesday voted to sign up to the International Criminal Court (ICC), a development that is expected to further sour relations with the country's old ally Russia.
A chasm has opened up between the two countries, with Yerevan angry with the Kremlin over its perceived inaction in a long-standing confrontation between Armenia and fellow post-Soviet state Azerbaijan.
What does the decision mean?
Countries that sign and ratify the Hague-based court's founding Rome Statute are in theory obliged to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin, indicted for war crimes connected to the deportation of children from Ukraine, if he were to enter their terrritory.
In the parliamentary session, 60 deputies voted in favor while 22, mainly opposition lawmakers, cast their vote against joining the ICC.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan last week tried to soothe Kremlin fears, saying the initiative was not "directed against" Russia.
Whatever the motive, Moscow has already described the parliament's decision as an affront.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a briefing that, while Moscow regarded Yerevan as an ally, it would have to question the country's current leadership
Russia had previously warned Armenia against voting to ratify the court treaty, saying this would be viewed as "extremely hostile."
Why are relations with Russia frosty?
Former Soviet state Armenia has accused Russian "peacekeeping" troops of failing to prevent recent hostilities that it says allowed Baku to take full control of the ethnic Armenian enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh. The breakaway statelet lies wholly within Azerbaijan's territory, but it had come under the control of ethnic Armenian forces after the breakup of the Soviet Union.
he Russian troops were deployed to Nagorno-Karabakh as peacekeepers after a 2020 war that saw the region largely surrounded by Azeri forces.
Streets of Nagorno-Karabakh empty
An International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) official on Tuesday described the empty streets of Nagorno-Karabakh as "surreal" with most of the ethnic population having fled to Armenia.
Only a few hundred people remain behind in the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, known as Stepanakert by Armenia and Khankendi by Azerbaijan, including the sick, disabled and elderly.
"The city is now completely deserted," said ICRC team lead Marco Succi via videolink.
"The hospitals....are not functioning; the medical personnel left; the water board authorities left; the director of the morgue also left. So this scenario, the scene is quite surreal."
Despair among refugees
Some of the people who fled to Armenia said the situation had been difficult even before the Azeri takeover after Baku blocked road access for several months.
"We were starving, for several months. I could only eat vegetables from my small garden: potatoes, pumpkins, things like that. We ran out of bread at some point. We tried to bake our bread using our own grain," one refugee told DW.
Nagorno-Karabakh mass exodus continues
DW's reporter in Yerevan, Dmitry Ponyavin, said there was a sense of abandonment and hopelessness among the refugees at one reception center.
"This place is being held together largely by efforts of local activists who tell us that they prefer not to send families here especially with small children as staying here can be very traumatizing for them."

Europe needs to step up and militarize. As much to demonstrate defense viability without the US as to deter Russia and show sustainability of deterrence - so that peace could eventually be established. EU foreign ministers in Ukraine’s Kyiv for unprecedented meeting abroad
Top diplomats of the bloc gather in Kyiv in the first-ever meeting outside the EU borders in show of solidarity.
The foreign ministers of all 27 European Union member states are meeting in war-torn Ukraine in their first-ever meeting outside the bloc’s borders, displaying support for Kyiv.
The unannounced meeting takes place as the Ukrainian government pushes to join the EU in the future, amid Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which is in its 20th month.
“I am convening today the EU Foreign Ministers in Kyiv, for the first-ever meeting of all 27 Member States outside the EU,” the EU’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said in a post on social media platform X on Monday.
“Ukraine’s future lies within the EU,” he added.
Top officials from EU capitals have often visited Kyiv since the beginning of the war, but this is the first time an official EU summit is being held in the Ukrainian capital.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba hailed the ministers’ meeting “within future borders” of the EU in a post on social media platform X.
“Glad to welcome EU foreign ministers at the historic meeting in Ukraine,” he said, adding: “For the first time in history, outside current EU borders. But also within its future borders.”
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said the meeting was a signal to Moscow of the bloc’s determination to support Ukraine over the long term.
“It is a demonstration of our resolute and lasting support for Ukraine, until it can win. It is also a message to Russia that it should not count on our weariness. We will be there for a long time to come,” she told reporters in Kyiv.
The EU member states, along with the United Kingdom and the United States, have provided massive military and financial support to Ukraine, enabling it to stand up to the Russian offensive.
‘One voice’
Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi, reporting from the Ukrainian city of Lubny, said the meeting symbolises a crucial moment in EU-Ukraine relations.
“The Russian war in Ukraine is an existential threat not just to Ukraine, but to the European project,” he said.
“The majority of EU countries speak in one voice when it comes to supporting Ukraine in this war,” Basravi said.
Monday’s meeting comes days after the US Congress blocked new aid for Ukraine in a government spending deal despite calls from the White House in the opposite direction.
As uncertainty sets in over how long Kyiv’s allies will keep sending billions of dollars for the war, Kuleba said that Washington’s support for Ukraine was not weakening.
“We do not feel that the US support has been shattered … because the United States understands that what is at stake in Ukraine is much bigger than just Ukraine,” he told reporters as he greeted Borrell for the summit.
“The decision was taken as it was, but we are now working with both sides of the Congress to make sure that it does not repeat again under any circumstances,” Kuleba added.
US President Joe Biden on Sunday reassured Kyiv and allies of continued financial support for the war effort despite the US Congress’s decision.
He pressed congressional Republicans to back the aid, saying he was “sick and tired” of the political brinkmanship that had nearly closed the government down.

if Washington sent a Nazi army to slaughter Mexican Americans in the SW for protesting their coup I would not support arming the Nazis, if I armed anyone it would be the Mexican Americans being attacked by the Nazis. All Russia has asked for this whole time is a neutral and peaceful Ukraine - the coup and slaughter of protesters ended hope for that, we sent them a Nazi army to fight a proxy war on their border instead. Try wearing Putin's moccasins for a moment, the USA would not allow a coup in Mexico and a Russian backed Nazi army attacking Mexicans or American Mexicans across our border.
When Ukraine does collapse you might be surprised by who is doing the taking. Russia will keep Crimea and the Donbas but Ukraine could see chunks of land (re)claimed by other neighbors. Ofc we'll say its to prevent Russia from taking it, just watch... Now if Putin did want Kiev and did take it, the west would just move the proxy war westward to the Banderite strongholds fighting to retake Kiev.
