never cared for zombies in horror movies, slow stumbling and brainless might win an election but it doesn't strike fear in my heart
Zombies have basic brain function, otherwise they couldn't move around and react to stuff. Also, if they were brainless headshots wouldn't work. But they should do Botox to look better
I was never a fan of the movie Gone With the Wind, dont know if I ever watched start to finish. I suppose the critics liked it, my mom did. But my god, the musical soundtrack is non stop. Two people having a quiet conversation on the screen and they're competing with the string section of an orchestra. The cinematography was great though considering how old it is. The Wizard of Oz introduced children to drugs, the poppy field put Dorothy to sleep and the good witch sent snow to revive her.
The internet has become transfixed with the idea of watching Greta Gerwig’s bubblegum comedy next to Christopher Nolan’s dark drama but it proved to be a nightmarish combo
Srsly - why did something like 5hrs of movie watching in one day appear like a fun experience, esp. when starting with the heavy Oppenthingie

Reason: yep
Watching Seinfeld reruns, "The Subway" (S3,E13) is hilarious. Elaine freaks out from overcrowding, Jerry talks baseball with a naked guy, and Kramer wins big at the track and is mugged while George gets handcuffed to a bed by a woman ripping him off.
just watched a restored version of spartacus on tcm and noticed something about the famous scene when the defeated slaves stand up shouting 'I'm Spartacus' when the roman general told them they would be spared if spartacus was identified
brought a tear to spartacus' eye
and then he let thousands of slaves be crucified to keep his identity hidden
Trumbo, biography of Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo blacklisted during the red scare. Bryan Cranston plays him. I saw a movie years ago called Fear on Trial with William Devane playing another guy smeared as a traitor. I didn't realize how bad it was, Edward G Robinson was friends with a few of the people targeted by Huac (House on unamerican activities) and while he stood his ground initially he named names under oath rather than risk contempt and prison. Trumbo did time for contempt, he asked his accusers to show him the evidence and they threw him in jail instead. The head of the committee ended up in the same jail with Trumbo a short time later for tax violations.
There's a scene when John Wayne (head of some actors assoc) confronts Trumbo as a traitor, Wayne towered over him menacingly and Trumbo started citing the military service of the people Wayne was smearing including his own, then he asked the Duke what he did in wwii. Ouch. John Wayne was a dick, seriously effed up. No wonder he griped at Clint Eastwood for making westerns with anti-heroes.
During the 20s and 30s with the rise of fascism in Europe many Americans joined communist parties/organizations to counter the threat. Trumbo defines communism to his little girl who doesn't understand why her father is hated, he asks her what she does in school if she sees another child without lunch. She shares her food. Otoh some of Trumbo's friends were truer believers and pointed to his nice property north of LA.
So we allied with the USSR and more Americans joined the communist party. But politics is fickle, we armed the commies in wwii and then started purging the country of these people who thought they were allies. One day the USSR is worthy of our weapons, the next its the enemy and Americans who supported them are traitors.
Rosario Dawson is perfect as the title-Jedi. The show overall is ok-ish, and has potential to grow, but one episode (5, IIRC) was a total insult for me. Semi spoilers, it was spending too much time on Ahsoka having visions or somesuch between life and death, felt like a bad holodeck episode in Star Trek
Mando S3 was good, albeit IMO the large action finale was overdone, Mando feels better when he does it small-scale, western style, but maybe that's just me
