Very much enjoying Avenue 5 on HBO Max. It's about a luxury Space cruise that gets knocked off course turning an 8 week trip into 3+ years. Half hour comedy. Pretty funny.

Finally watched the third and final season of After Life on Netflix. Quite good.
First two seasons were better, but hey, it's a quick binge - just 6 half-hour episodes per season.
Ricky Gervais is a freaking genius. Although I'm slightly miffed at all the feels he made me feel.

Renfieild apparently sucks in a Vampire-Nicholas-Cage kind of way.......
The new Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult-led horror/comedy Renfield is equal parts ridiculous and over-the-top. That's what makes it so much fun.

I finished ST Discovery season 4. Liked the idea/stuff about the outer-galaxy species, but IMO they really overdo it with the let's-talk-about-óur-feelings-ending-in-tearful-hugging stuff now.

Finally watched D&D - Honor among thieves

As a (former) player of both the Pen & Paper RPG as well as many of the CRPGs of AD&D and Pathfinder, I loved this.

If plays for most parts in Neverwinter ... parts of it in Underdark ... and Baldurs Gate, the Sword Coast and Icewind Dale are mentioned.
Also you will recognize lots of creatures of the Bestiarium of D&D as well as lots of spells of the D&D Grimoire

IMHO definitely something every (form er) player of (A)D&D or Pathfinder should watch

They took a few artistical liberties ... for example, a druid that can change into an Owlbear (normally not possible, as an Owlbear is a monstrosity and not a normal animal) ...
bit I would do this away by assuming that those are the house rules by which this certain campaign plays

I especially loved the Displacer Beast in the arena of Neverwinter ... exactly like you would imagine a Displacer Beast to look like
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"

Watched half the 1st season of Star Trek Strange New Worlds. So far I like it a lot. Being a spinoff from Discovery it has the Pike and Spock guys that appeared there a while ago (season 2 IIRC). There's even hints of the Gorn...

Finally got around to start House of the Dragon. I really miss the large number of great or at least interesting characters that populated GOT, even in smaller roles. Also while the first ep of HOTD had lots more action, violence and was bigger on Dragon CGI from the start (compared to early GOT) it felt long-winded at times, maybe because many dialogues were lacking the sarcasm and irony known from GOT. Maybe it still improves

OTOH I also tried the 1st ep of "Raised by Wolves" which I found excellent. No idea if it stays high, or goes downhill from there

                  • HoD drags on a bit mid episodes, but closes strong. Raised by Wolves starts fantastic and drops off considerably. I finished season one but don't know or care if there is a season two.

                    • I concur D&D honor amogn thieves was great, especially if you were into d&d.

and yes the diplacer beasts, they nailed it with that one.

I also almost cried a little when, well not to spoil it, about what happened at the end of the big fight

Der Greif (The Griphon) by Wolfgang Hohlbein on Amazon Prime

About a teenager who lives in the city of Lrefeld (or rather, Krefelden in the series) in Germany 1994 and has to cope with his family heritage that allows him passage to another world, as well as putting him into danger from the creatures from beyond.

Well made ... with a lot of rock music from the beginning of the 1990s (like Soundgardens Black Hole Sun or Radioheads Creep) in the first episode
(with the first episode being rather an introductory episode and the action beginning to start only at the end of episode 1)
