Something I was just made aware of: Zelensky is Jewish. Purely out of morbid curiosity, how does that affect the calculations behind calling his government "Nazis"?

He has betrayed everything related to the Jewish people and making heroes out of the butchers of Jewish people in WW2.
Just type in google Stepan Bandera
Now this nazi motherf*cker as well as many other nazi motherf*ckers who were actual oficers of Waffen-SS are oficially recognized as the heros of Ukraine with many streets and stadiums named and monuments erected to their honor.
Now ask yourself, how a President whom consider himself Jewish can allow that?

Well, I had no idea who the hell "Stepan Bandera" was this morning--I would have guessed some kind of Slavic Antonio impersonator--but I just looked him up and already I can tell that the truth about him is considerably more nuanced than you're letting on. Not that the man himself was not a POS--he seems to have been a quisling collaborator, though nb the real Nazis actually threw him in the camps for trying to set up an independent fashie government--but Wiki says he's a very controversial figure in Ukraine, with the western part mostly liking him and the eastern part mostly hating him. Which I guess makes opinions of him a proxy for "which scares you more, Nazis or Commies?" As someone who finds both perfectly disgusting, it seems this man is a relic of an era when virtually every influential figure in European politics seemed to be either a far-right or far-left lunatic. I can see how a lot of Ukrainians might look on him favorably, as Hitler was not responsible for the Holodomor. Certainly America has equivalent controversies; we've only recently started tearing down the monuments to nineteenth-century traitors, and there are still lots of people who passionately defend those statues. And yet we are not, to my knowledge, advancing the cause of chattel slavery anywhere in the world.
Zelensky's actual contribution to the Bandera controversy, per Wikipedia, seems limited to some waffling talk about how SOME Ukrainians think he's a hero and who am I to say blah blah blah difficult time in history blah blah. Anyway, your answer seems to be that Ukrainians are Nazis by virtue of not being tankies, which is about what I expected. Thanks for answering.

They have sawed people alive - they've tied a Jew a Russian or a Polish or whoever they do not like, tied them to a table and cut them to pieces with a saw, while their victims were still alive.
They've burned people alive on a mass scale.
They have buried people alive on a mass scale.
They have made Nazis to turn away in shock and watching the other side during their mass executions.
They've took Jewish babies of 1 year old and smack their heads with the nearest tree, while their mothers were forced to watch this.
A controversial figure?
BURN IN F*CKING HELL!
And with this message I mean - YOU!

Yeah, wait till you hear what that Stalin cat was up to around that same time. It turns out sometimes our old heroes are not the best people. In fact, sometimes they're terrible people who father children on their dead wives' enslaved underaged half-sisters (to give one American example). A more thoughtful person might wonder why, given how Ukraine suffered under Nazi occupation, any number of Ukrainians eulogize a Nazi collaborator because he fought against his ostensible Soviet motherland.
