As for the shootings, from what i understand the 1rst guy had severe mental illness and a deathwish, after the he shot him the others went after him and it all went downhill from there.

couple corrections for my last post:

Antioch is 15 miles from Kenosha and the gun was kept (owned?) in Wisconsin. I'm assuming Wisconsin law protects 17 years olds acting in self defense so the only thing they can get him on is taking the gun with him, and I'm also assuming Wisconsin law allows 17 year olds to defense others.

Thats a bit sticky, if a jury decides the kid's motives and actions were justified they might conclude a riot is a special circumstance that would extend the right of self defense to a neighborhood under assault with little or no police presence.

If criminals invaded my home and my 17 year old neighbor stopped them with a gun he cant legally use the law is messed up. If I was on the jury I'd acquit him of illegal homicide/murder charges and nullify any gun law violations.
