  • Your argument would carry more water if English actually had different third person pronouns for singular and plural

    • It's irritatingly awkward anyway. It is - just sounds wrong.

      • That's just "they" and "them". You literally need a chart to keep track of all the neo-pronouns and their usage.

        • The made-up nonsense sounds will never catch on; I'm aware of some of them back in the 80s, and they haven't made much headway, or nobody would've made up new ones for the same thing.

I have no objection to pronoun preferences clearly stated. I've actually found it helpful on occasion.
Just please, don't make it weird. Plural is fine; but don't use the royal 'we' kthx.

Fortunately, we have the lovely, non-gendered "you" for direct interactions.

            • I am happy to use he and she, I can probably be convinced to use they.

              • Wow, the Mark Meadows texts [with Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX)] have come out.
Shows pretty conclusively how this progressed from "seeking evidence for legal remedy" to straight-up coup attempt between the election and Jan. 6th.

Trust not CNN, FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, Newsmax, or any other U.S. media company when it comes to domestic political news. Always go overseas to learn the full story. (Not saying that this story is inaccurate...just not to trust it or any other from any U.S. source when it comes to Politics).

Well, this is a reproduction of actual texts, and it speaks for itself. That why - unlike my usual procedure - I felt comfortable posting it from CNN rather than linking from the Guardian, BBC, or other confirming source. In general, I make it a point to confirm things with overseas reporting.

But hey, thanks for your opinion. I especially like the irony of you offering us no reason to trust your own views.
