I didn't say they shouldn't be arrested. I think there were bad people there getting otherwise good people in trouble. Antifa does the same thing. They tell people to do stuff and then the people get in trouble. I don't know how many bad people were there but it was no coup. It was a big riot. That's it. Claiming that it was a coup is ridiculous. You can't take over the government like that.

Invading the Capitol during the Electoral College vote count can ONLY be interpreted as an attempted takeover of the government. Stating your intent to arrest and/or murder elected officials, then following through with an invasion of their workplace, is terrorism.
Being incompetent is not an excuse.
And you KNOW Trump was ready and waiting to take credit for the whole thing if it worked.

Democrats are seeking to remove Trump on the basis of his remarks to supporters before the rioting at the Capitol. Like others, I condemned those remarks as he gave them, calling them reckless and wrong. I also opposed the challenges to electoral votes in Congress. But his address does not meet the definition for incitement under the criminal code. It would be viewed as protected speech by the Supreme Court.Despite broad and justified condemnation of his words, Trump never actually called for violence or riots. But he urged his supporters to march on the Capitol to raise their opposition to the certification of electoral votes and to back the recent challenges made by a few members of Congress. Trump told the crowd “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices be heard.”
I have enormous respect for Turley, I wish Trump had nominated him.

And he still continues to Tell THE BIG LIE that he actually won and that he was cheated out of the election... with absolutely no proof of any such thing. And he continues to rile up his cult followers, with everybody expecting more violence to come.

What is the rest of the world saying? From BusinessInsider.com...
Some among America's military allies believe Trump deliberately attempted a coup
and may have had help from federal law-enforcement officials- Multiple European security officials told Insider that President Donald Trump appeared to have tacit support among US federal agencies responsible for securing the Capitol complex in Wednesday's coup attempt.
- Insider is reporting this information because it illustrates the serious repercussions of Wednesday's events: Even if they are mistaken, some among America's international military allies are now willing to give credence to the idea that Trump deliberately tried to violently overturn an election and had help from some federal law-enforcement agents.
- "We train alongside the US federal law enforcement to handle these very matters, and it's obvious that large parts of any successful plan were just ignored," one source told us.

The supporters of President Donald Trump who stormed the Capitol on Wednesday to stop the ratification of President-elect Joe Biden's election victory were attempting a violent coup that multiple European security officials said appeared to have at least tacit support from aspects of the US federal agencies responsible for securing the Capitol complex.
Insider spoke with three officials on Thursday morning: a French police official responsible for public security in a key section of central Paris, and two intelligence officials from NATO countries who directly work in counterterrorism and counterintelligence operations involving the US, terrorism, and Russia.
They said the circumstantial evidence available pointed to what would be openly called a coup attempt in any other nation. None were willing to speak on the record because of the dire nature of the subject.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

What circumstantial evidence? The police let them through the barricade because they were afraid and there wasn't enough of them. It's higher that did this by not having enough police.

It was unlawful. It was total disorder. Not only did Trump give a speech, he then watched it on TV and did nothing.
The "law and order" President did NOTHING to stop the attack on our Capitol. That alone is an impeachable dereliction of duty.
-
Lie. He told people to go home. You just lie.
-
He told them a lot of things, including "If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore."
It's part of his conman patter, getting to people to do what will help him while maintaining a plausible deniability.
He clearly dragged his heels on authorizing the National Guard, and he was gleefully watching the whole thing live on TV.

It's typical for Trump to send some vague or mixed msgs that appeal to his folks on the one hand, but leave room for denial to be on the safe side. Nothing new really. Whether it makes an impact or not should it come to legal action I dunno, but we'll see.Blah

Maybe you should give your "evidence" to Trump... Because he sure hasn't produced any... And while he continues to sprout the BIG LIE that only his minions believe, he has stopped trying to prove anything and simply resorted to fabricating crap in a lame attempt to convince the Georgia officials to commit a crime.
But keep listening to your masters... only the cult followers still believe his lie.
Because there is NO REAL EVIDENCE of MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD, so Trumps rants are simply a lame and unproven conspiracy theory.Keep on Civin'

Trump is a master at menace and hedging.
Toss a coin, he will shout heads and then shout tails and then claim to have guessed heads if heads and tails of tails. He will point to past comments to show he did nothing wrong and condemned violence whilst also making speeches promoting it.
He will also use menace instead of blatant incitement. If he said “It would be a real shame if something bad happened to your face” is not a direct threat based on literal meaning, but most people know what he means whilst he defends he was just stating a valid fair statement - after all it would be a shame wouldn’t it?One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.
