Reason:Turkey’s government has sent a letter to the United Nations formally requesting that it be referred to as Türkiye, the state-run news agency has reported.
What's wrong with the bird? The move is seen as part of a push by Ankara to rebrand the country and dissociate it from the bird of the same name and negative connotations associated with it.

Cake ambush is still a thing:
A man disguised as an elderly woman in a wheelchair has thrown cake at the Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting at the Louvre in Paris.
False flag ops to give Hell's Grannies a bad name!

when i was in the US Navy, CV59 was my home command... every 60 days or so at sea they had a 'steel beach day'. everyone got 2 movie stub like tickets. each good for a beer. i hate beer, ugh. i sold each of mine (1987 mind you) for $40 each. i also worked nights all those years, whatever that means
rum (the captain) is it. i did party with a few (several) russian sailors. I did a few exchange deals. the language thing was the huddler... but that is overcome by booze and women. i will say this about the russian navy - they have the cleanest boats i have ever seen! BY FAR!

And there's a couple of supermarkets where you'll easily find a couple dozen brands of each, not considering craft beers.

Lager, Witbier, Kolsch, Dunkel, Altbier, Heller, Bock, Schwarzbier, Pills, Kellerbier, anda couple others are common in any supermarket

So you just get a few standard lagers, pilsners, stouts, etc with an occasional Kolsch thrown in???

Growlers are neat. I haven't seen them around here in Germany, but the craft beer market is not as developed (granted, they have a metric ****ton of different beers, and I live in a small city, both things that might affect it).
Back in Argentina I had two different pubs within 300m of my house, so there was a lot of variety.

Yeah, that's cool too. We were the first state to have a Bottle Bill, so even though we're full of trash ridden houseless dumps now, there are probably no refundable items among the feces, needles and bike parts.

I think he's talking about exchange of empty for full, like propane.

That's a great idea. As everyone knows we are a bunch of horrible, lazy *******s here. I love the idea of refilling from bulk dispensers. I try to buy a lot of bulk bin and honey, amino acids, etc. Mrs. Sneak is all about the growlers and Oregon is a beervana. There are so many easy solutions to wasteful consumption. Like any habit, once you've locked it in as your way of doing things, it's not that big of a deal. I saw recently that you can refill detergents and soaps etc in European grocery stores. Smart.

At least here where I live people will regularly go to the supermarket (perhaps to the drinks-only supermarket) with their two crates of empty beer bottles and two crates of empty water bottles, and exchange them for new beer and bottled water.Originally posted by SuperSneak View PostHasn't anyone ever heard of a tap hit in Germany??? Far better for the environment and you could charge by the second or something.
