Well, it's based on a DHS internal investigation, so it's their side of the tale. And it confirms a lot of stories I heard from my Portland friends that summer.
Can't comment on Dell Cameron, as he's not on my radar. Mostly just wanted to preserve the link while it's active in the news cycle. -
I believe the factual conclusion that there was a Homeland Security Operation that did not turn up any evidence of domestic terrorism. I also believe that Trump probably believed there was domestic terrorism and hoped to prove a link. I ALSO believe that when protestors are burning buildings and threatening government facilities that any President would have ordered Homeland Security in to conduct an investigation. The spin here is that because it was Trump that it was nefarious. I do not deny the possibility, but I do deny the certainty and the spin the author puts on it. As far as Dell Cameron...he is the guy that reported that Police were using license plate tracking software to hunt down and arrest people giving rides to abortion clinics. Just saying...Consider the source.

Am I misreading, or is there a difference in that Trump banned anyone from those countries, while Obama removed persons with that nationality (namely dual nations otherwise eligible due to one of the nationalities) from accessing the visa waiver program option?One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.Comment

Both actually. The list was on the table with Obama to implement a travel ban but was not put in place until Trump was President. Trump implemented a policy that Obama had considered but decided not to implement. So, in a sense, you could say that Trump was guilty...but only if you disregard that the Obama administration had considered those countries as dangerous embarcation locations.

Have Plato and Berz forgotten that ISIS existed? They and a certain Syrian dictator caused the refugee crises. Obama managed to defeat ISIS mostly using drones which helped to end the crisis. (I don't consider refugees a crisis, I would I welcomed every single one to the US)"Comment

History can be hard for some and I see you are not the exception. The Obama list was countries where they would potentially ban immigration from due to the lack of controls at the exit point...i.e. there was a high likelyhood of terrorist using those as embarkation points to the U.S. Why they did not implement this is a mystery, but it was definately terrorist related and not racial related. Trump merely implemented a strategy that the Obama administration came up with. It is not correct to say this was racially motivated as the vast majority of Muslim dominated countries were not affected. This was part of the smear campaign against Trump by the left. I am not saying that Trump did not do some questionable things on the racial front...merely that this was not one of them -
Once again, a list is not a policy. It wasn't policy until Trump made it policy It might be a mystery to you why Obama didn't implement it a Trump policy, but it probably has something to do with continuity and Obama not supporting said policy. Trump's anti Muslim rhetoric disproves the rest of your post even if you are ignorant of the history. -
Far from ignorant of history. I am also much better at separating media bias from truth than you are. But keep spouting the liberal line. Also, don't think I am defending Trump...I am not. I simply state the fact of the matter. Obama's team recognized the problem as did Trump's team. We were all more secure because the solution was implemented. Simple facts.
