So that doesn't jive with the bible saying the earth is only 6000 years old. Totally made up. "because God rested on the 7th day" laughable.
It is possible for stories that support scientific fact to be incorporated into a totally made up story. Using that as proof that God created the earth is a stretch.

The Bible doesn't say the Earth is 6,000 years old, thats an interpretation based on Bishop Ussher's use of genealogies. The 'days' were gods (planets), the Bible was written by monotheists who either omitted or disguised them.
