  • found the solution to US gun violence

What happened at el paso and the manifesto of the perpetrator made me think:

he was crazy and a psychopath obviously (note I don't say racist, that's beyond the point)
guns should be banned but they will not be

taken all this into account it occured to me that US doesn't have a functioning pluralistic democracy. It IS a democracy, sure, but the options are very limited.

The killer obviosuly felt dishenransized (sp?) and not represented in his anti-immigration pro-white views.

There should be a party capable of addressing those concerns. Not the republicans, something more hardcore and stupid.

That means that the US political establishment and regulations should make it hugely more easy for parties to be formed and participate in elections.

That guy's anger would have had a democratic outlet. Would he have done the same if such a party existed? Maybe not.

Europe unfortunately is filled with these sort of parties and some are in coalition governments.

Let there be one in the US and if it amounts to nothing, even better

There are a few local jurisdictions that have implemented ranked choice voting (also known as instant-runoff or alternative vote) but the probability of it getting adopted by most states is low since it doesn't benefit the dominant parties and most states have no way for citizens to directly put something up for a referendum.

Also I'm guessing you meant "disenfranchised"

You are giving him a too much credit. He's crazy as you say, so why wouldn't he kill people if we had a parliamentary system. Some people want to kill people so they have some excuse. They have an excuse because they are bad people.

That thing doesn't happen in other countries. Only in yours.
        There must be a reason.

It is guns and an uncaring society.
But you seem unwilling to either give up your guns (guns in a civilian population, that's absurd! maybe if you were "winning the west") or institute social security (aka welfare, social net etc) safeguards.
You don't seem to be willing to do either of these things.

So maybe a more inclusive form of democracy would help.

        That's all I'm saying.

It is tragic and comic at the same time to see 249 vigils with those cute little candles in a year....!

It is society and it isn't. The US is a caring society. We like to help people. But when society is divided like ours is it makes people feel weird. People have weird relationships. They don't know how to act around people because things get taboo. You have people getting attacked or people talk in private when they can't talk in public about things that are troubling. Kids grow up in this environment. Maybe they become victims of crime and then they start to get mad at groups of people. They get attacked on the news or on social media, by Hollywood people or other elites.

To be quite frank, I know you don't believe in God, but believing in God can help you from going down the tubes. Sadly, a lot of times church can be hostile to some people.

As horrible as these shootings are they are acts of desperation. These people are delusional. America will never again be anything like what they want it to be. We don't have to give them legitimate political power. I have no problem with them not being given a platform at all in any media. They have no chance, and Americans like it that way. They are less than 1% of America.

Which, as well all know, don't exist in other countries.

Some people say that people like that get isolated on social media. Then they don't have access to people with different view points. I don't know about the last shooter though. I heard that he was a strange anti-immigrant environmentalist wacko. He probably didn't fit in with the other White Supremacists.

Again, what about other countries that have internet'social media and video games? Maybe the issue isn't what they all have in common but what they don't. Easier access to guns.

Legal gun ownership is not correlated with gun violence

Of course, asking for any supporting facts to back up your opinion there would be a total waste of time. But then we're not limiting the discussion to legal gun ownership.
