With Trump and family, it's probably more about money laundering and self-enrichment than anything else. But the fact that there are foreign powers involved makes it a national security matter, whether or not the candidate/POTUS knew or was directly involved. If there's "no collusion, no obstruction," so be it. If there is, so be it.

But regardless, the public has a right to know what kind of oligarch they elected, and to what extent he and his people are fvcking with our country and our "democracy" for his personal gain.

I'm not sure why anyone thinks there needed to be a conspiracy to get him elected over Hillary.
      538 is questionable, IMO

He was competing against Hillary, though. I find it wholly explicable that he won by a ludicrously slim margin.

        Fair enough.

Why do you say tht? Their methodology is clear and every can view it along with how they weight polling companies based upon past accuracy. They also have one of if not the best record in the business.

Just FYI even the Trump appointed head of the Department of Homeland security has had to admit that Russian state backed hackers broke into the voter registration systems in 27 states. Now, by itself that doesn't mean vote totals were altered but there is no reason why that could not also have been done. BTW no one has thoroughly examined if that happened or not largely because Trump has said he thinks doing so would be a waste of money.

            Color me me not reassured.

Vote counting systems and voter registrations systems are separate things. Voter registration data could be very helpful in influence troll targeting.

Which is what I said. It still gives them ****loads of information for when it comes to targeting their disinformation campaign.

If there exists the slightest doubt about vote count integrity it should be audited promptly. That actually is "hackable."

They were also very nearly the only group giving Hillary less than 90% odds.

It would have never worked if we weren't so stupid. But then that's usually the biggest problem with a democracy. But anyone proposing modifying it is automatically deemed a racist.

As in, if you're literate enough to read the bull**** being spouted by all and sundry then you shouldn't be allowed to vote?
