The financing cost increases early on primarily because the principal is increasing for the first 10 years. $150 billion a year, for a total of $1.5 trillion over 10 years. Also since the financing costs are also being financed the financing costs are compounding, having their own financing costs. Long term the compounding nature is the principal effect on the principal even if the tax breaks are all kept and this add to the principal.

Of course if interest rates increase ...

It just keeps adding up until people like you stop being mooches and stop supporting politicians who are giving you a little of what they are taking from you ... or the entire system collapses.
