To sum it up ... there have been scientific survey based studies conducted after Trumps letion that tried to shine a light on voting behavior vs. personal attitudes.

It turned out that there was one factor that was an especially good predictor for determining whether a person would vote for Trump or not:
Racial resentment
(which is the opinion/belief that black people don't represent core american values like individualism and self-reliance)

Anothet thing that was a good predictor for voting behavior was hostile sexism. Eonomic dissatisfaction, on the other hand, was a a rather insufficient predictor for voting behavior (as ithere was only a slight trend by economically dissatisfied people to vote for Trump)

These findings are supported by other studies, for example one that found out that people who strongly identified as members of the "white race" and feared that blacks would outnumber them by 2049, would be most inclined to vote for Trump ...
or another study that found out that Trump voters would more likely show signs of latent racism (for example letting theer decision making be influenced on whether it involved a black person or a white person)

(as it seems like those studies have been co ducted after the election IMHO the question remains, however, how many of Trumps voters already were racists/misogynists before exposure to Trump ... and how many became this way thanks to their exposure to Trumps racist and sexist rhetorics during his election campaign)

Well to me a misogynist is someone who hates women, and a racist is someone who hates people because of their race. I don't know any misogynists.
