It's a total miss, really. I will never tell you so! I do not ever attack any Westerner, who really tries to understand things about us, instead of following the cliches.
I attack only in retaliation. As for you, somewhere in my mind you are in my friend list for years, 'cause you try. Really! I'm not joking. I remember most of the guys who have brains and courage.
You might have your own view, but its based on some knowledge, not myths. I have my own, but you obviously aren't brainwashed)))
So, let's make hockey, not war!
We are the best two in that sport.

Ok, since we have already figured out that Dinner is an idiot, who lives in his own universe full of wrong assumptions and therefore can't do the math properly, then now you can ask me about the moments in the movie that you didn't understand.
I've seen the movie three times in the theater and I guess I got it. At least most of the easter eggs.

New Blade Runner is not good, IMHO.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

It's been so long since I saw the old one, I'll probably have to watch it again first to remember all the little details.

I never remember it being as great as it's been given credit for.

Hey, remember that Russian tank Serb kept proclaiming was the best ever? Yeah, it turns out it was only really at parity with the US MBT (which is still a massive step up for the Russians) but Russia only produced 14 of them for testing before Russia ran out of cash and stopped making them!

Meanwhile the US is full steam ahead on the new modernized M1A4 which is looking to be by far the best tank in the world. Big improvements in every category and the US has already committed to buying 500 with intial options for 2000 more.

Meanwhile the Russians have given up on the T-14 Armata and instead are just upgrading their old, existing out of date tank fleet. If it matters that really is the best option for them since they cannot afford to buy new tanks.

Yay, we can afford to waste more money on "defense"!

You definitely should rewatch Bladerunner before going to BR 2049
Certain events integral to BR 2049 are a continuation of events in Bladerunner.

                    On a sidenote:
If Joi were available for purchase, it were a must buy for me
Same goes for the flying car with the drone in it
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"

I rewatched it recently, and it has dated. In its day though, it was pretty revolutionary in terms of look, sound and mood.

Yes, it was in the dirty gritty future mode which was 180 degrees from the Star Trek view which was what made it special at the time.
And yeah, thanks MST for the reminder. Some one else mentioned that the was some continuity that would be important. But I guess I have some time before it's available on cable.

I met a guy at a party a couple of years ago who had been sourcing materials for the set of Prometheus. He was very impressed with the way Scott had every detail of every set precisely envisioned. I think that's what made BR a standout, along with the lighting, the soundtrack, the continual rain. And, as you say Rah, the bleakness of the future, as opposed to the shiny uniformity previously offered up. He did the same in Alien.

I think I may have shared this story here before, but anyway, earlier in the year some high-end motorcycle boots came up on ebay for cheap - 200 pairs. The seller said a movie production had changed their order - wanted the other colour. Paid for both orders. Given my conversation with the above-mentioned guy I had a fair idea which movie, so I watched Alien Covenant like a hawk and sure enough, there were my boots. For a total of about 10 seconds, if that. Couldn't even tell which of the two colours they were in.

The Vangelis soundtrack in Bladerunner also made it pretty special in my opinion. There's a movie called Gallipoli, an early one of Mel Gibson's, set in WW1 in an episode deeply ingrained in Australia's view of itself. Vangelis did the soundtrack for that too - electronica in a story set in 1915. It fit beautifully!

Vangelis was also used in Chariots of Fire, which won awards for cinematography which doesn't really stand up now, but the soundtrack, again in a period piece set in the early 20th century still works.

In your universe T-14 means we have produced only 14 of them, before running out of cash.
