CDU/CSU support has fallen by around 10% since 2015; the SDP's support has fallen around 5% in this time. the main beneficiary has been the AFD, while the green party and FDP have also picked up some support. dinner is absolutely correct that voters are unhappy with the government and are looking for alternatives.

Most still are NOT voting for AFD and would never think of supporting them. That's the reality.

No. Its not. And the votes show that.

you're arguing against something that no one has claimed.

Thank you. It is nice to hear from someone who is not a blind ideologue spouting nonsense.

He does that frequently which is why people mostly just ignore his constant strawman arguments.

Nonsense? Ideologue? Have you taken a look at your own posts for a moment?

                  You're lying again.

I get full when eating about 1% of my own mass. (Not that I'm eating my own mass, mind you.) So, if we view Europe as the people there, and >= 1% of the people in Europe are fascists, then we could say Europe is full of fascists.

                    EUROPE IS FULL OF FASCISTS!

... at least until they poop the fascists out.

Who had an accident in the kitchen cause he had too many shots of whiskey.

Therefore Texas is full of white hillbilly drunks.

(Though the recent poll where Hillary was ahead gives me some reason to hope that Texas will someday gain its sense like California did)

This seems relevant, though I don't understand Europe well enough to have a good feel for its accuracy.

No they aren't. The problem with many of those parties discussed in that article, is that many sold out and betrayed their roots. The PSOE is famous for this. And Spain also has Podemos which is left wing itself. So while there is some populism in some countries, it is coming up short of gaining any real foothold. Right wing populism in the end is a pile of bull**** that has no real solutions and most people see that.

The reality is the left still has many more supporters than the right wing in Europe and that is how it will remain.

john harris is one of the guardian's best journalists (though that it setting the bar quite low), and his analysis of the UK left is usually pretty good. his knowledge of europe, however, is somewhat lacking. i shan't enter into a long discourse here, but though his diagnosis of the problem is accurate, his solutions are too timid.

Well bring to mind the three kings.
_What is the biggest driving force?
                              _Necessity

That's why all the analysis in the world won't stop that the world is heading for WW3 caused by the same illogicalities and paradoxalities of capitalism.

Working on the european project has degraded into funny.

Harmonizing, opening up markets, working on a neoliberal agenda that is supposed to the feeble minded to bring prosperity and peace while not tackling the biggest paradox of all which is the breathtaking concentration of wealth, the wars that it causes etc etc

However, this is not a bleak outlook. People often confuse this.

They try to isolate cases (venezuela is the neoliberals' darking) etc
But in the end people have the power

And will do what it takes.
